Anyone who plays this shit has some zombie fetish, for sure. And thats cool, everyone has different tastes. But don't dare market that fucking shit as a game of the year title. Biggest farce in years. I don't care if you have a big erection for zombies, just don't let it spill into mainstream gaming review media. Its misleading and unethical.

At least a few mainstream veteran gamers gave the first one a 2/10, and after playing, I felt just as robbed as they were.
Honestly it sounds like you hated the game before even playing it. It's a coop heavy FPS where teamwork is everything. The game has a small learning curve compared to other FPS's, but a fairly large perfection curve (killstop, skeeting, quad caps, 3/1, death pulls, 25's, crowns, etc). It's a fun game when you get into the advanced stuff and have people to play with that don't suck.

It's an SDK but the full version isn't released yet and it's assumed it won't be until L4D2 ships presumably so that mods created will work with that game . insert own comments on how that will be the final nail in the coffin.

I still play this game nearly everyday, there are some great custom campaigns out there assuming people don't abuse the shortcomings of the beta SDK. Like for example survivors being able to climb infected ladders if they know where they are in maps.

Ahh, haven't played it in some time now, figured the beta would be full by now.

Interesting idea to be sure. He will be ultra deadly if there are any ledges nearby.

Not really, all depends how the other three can assist. It's going to be awkward settting up attacks if you can't choose an infected at this point. Getting spitter/charger/jockey/hunter would suck since everything would just be killed before getting to you. You'd either need to attempt quad caps constantly or one boomer needs to be guaranteed...

I can see them putting in a feature where if you have this mob on your back you can't go over an edge. I doubt it, but it could happen. However if you can play this zombie and be able to briefly control where you take the survivor... there could some "lol" moments. Being a "boss" though, wonder how often it'll show up more than a tank? or whatever else they're throwing in this one.

Hey, on a side note, didn't one of the people on this forum have a friend who made Dead Abroad for L4D1?

Wtf is up with version 7? I've downloaded the stupid thing 20 times and tried to install and the game still won't recognize it.

Not sure but I've played that one. Real fun.

Since the beta SDK is out, the VPK file goes into a "addons" folder the pre-SDK maps didn't. Also, if you haven't missed with it yet, when I was doing custom maps, my L4D directory automatically had two add on folders. One was "Add Ons" and the other was "addons" You want the latter named folder.

so it'll be like:
"c:/ Steam > steamapps > common > left 4 dead > left4dead > addons"
It should put it in the pulldown menu once you get into L4D.
If that's what you have done, then I would say it's an issue with the latest release of that map.

Ya, it's in the right folder. It just doesn't see it ingame, even if I try to host. The 6.1 map still works fine. I've run into other people in game that have had the same problem.

You have to delete whatever earlier version you have, same for a few of the mods out there.

Highly fucking annoying .

So whoever was naysaying the boycott plan, Valve did listen as people hoped they would - DLC was announced "Crash Course" a new campaign chapter for L4D, free for PC users, think its like 7$? for XBL, since MS wants to charge for the content or something.. and the leader of that online boycott also mentioned more DLC coming afterwards too.

More Left 4 Dead DLC after 'Crash Course,' says boycotter

The only negative thing I could think of for l4d is I wish they would tune the damn weapons differently. Having the auto shotty be the best gun in the game is just alien to me, a nub with 1 of those can halt a zombie swarm complete with SI on expert and it takes some of the fun out of the life or death moments in the game

While the AS is a good weapon, there are some maps I always pick the AR on. Being able to save your noob pug teammates from 50 yards away when they get pounced or picking off a hunter waiting on the edge of a roof.

But yeah, if you only play campaign, I guess that could be a valid concern.
