If your in beta and get discouraged by not knowing the item shop/heroes, give it about 5 games. After I have played about 5ish games I have a early item build I like to go with, and am starting to learn the heroes.

This game is worth learning, I'm really loving it.

Beta is great, been in the foh channel a few times with a bunch in there.. but I think i'm having chat issues or something, didn't see anyone talk. I also get that disconnected from chat.. reconnecting 1/3 message, although I never have connection issues in a game. Not going to break the NDA, but enjoying this more than dota, and way more than LoL atm

when you join a chat channel you're in there until you close the program. It's like running IRC. Add the people in the channel to your friends list and see if they're actually in a game or not.

edit: If you're in a game, press F6 and click on the top left to access chat channels
