| Registered User | You guys are also forgetting that later on, stats will most likely only be recorded in ranked play or ladder play with the matchmaking. There will also be forfeit/concede options, and tons of other things that solve present-patch issues. Over the long run, stats are actually very, very accurate, and very consistent for the average player and represent their skill well, if you look at the whole picture. In the future with even more stats available, we'll be able to make even more accurate decisions on player skill. Like Fog, in about 60 matches or so now, I've never had the opposing team prolong the game, and I play support most of the time unless I'm playing a high level or league match where I play carries. If you understand the game and play at a high level, you won't be stuck averaging < 1.0 KD as support no matter what pubs you join. With the new rankings metric, assists will be like 0.5 kills. So if you are going 0-9, you should be getting at least 18 assists, otherwise you're underperforming (and will get a negative rating with the new system, give or take). | I only have 20 games or so played but I remember at least 2 games where the other team would become somewhat careless and try to kill us in the well. That was most likely due to their level difference. When you're level 15ish and the other team is level 20+, they sure didn't mind trying to land a few hit/crits on the squishy heroes trying to heal. Although, I really don't mind about the stats. As Necrolyte said, they are actually accurate in giving us an idea on the player. Last edited by Thief; 07-14-2009 at 12:11 AM.. |

| Don't assume it will get better, because it will not. There is no DotA "community." There are leagues and clans, and then there are pub games. If you don't have friends playing, and you aren't going to seek out friends to play with, then don't bother. It's possible that pub games will be more fun and competitive if there's a good ranking and rating system, and enjoy a much higher quality of play. However, the players will still be egomaniac assholes. Last edited by Fog; 07-13-2009 at 10:41 PM.. |

+30 Internets | had an epic in house game that lasted 1 hour 30 min ish. went back and forth a few times, but in the end, I think the Madman was the key in the other team winning out. Just no way to kill him at the end. |

| For those of you that play dota, here is a quick reference for which heroes equal which in HoN. Its rough, but it should help you when you first start out. Also, hitting " toggles the health bars on and off. Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Last edited by Brand; 07-14-2009 at 09:00 AM.. |
