What's up with nobody talking in clan chat? I'll get online and we have like 20 people in the clan on, i'll ask in clan chat if anyone wants to start a game, or if the people playing will be ending anytime soon and nobody responds...

To talk in clan chat you can type /c m. Or /clan message.

Also, "bad item" basically just means "there are other options that are strictly better". Getting a helm won't make you lose a game, it's not "omg waste of money!". It's just that for the advanced player it's almost always the wrong choice.

Why is this even being discussed? I posted stuff for new players so they can improve their game, i could give a shit less about what is perfectly optimal for who.

Guess I need to refute some of this bullshit about helm of the black legion so new folks aren't led astray.

Like any other survivability item, farming this up first will hamper your long game development. However, helm is easily the most well rounded and versatile survival item in the game. It gets you regen, extra hps, and damage reduction on hits. Do not underestimate it.

I had a ton of fun last night playing Legionaire for the first time. For the first time I felt pretty synergetic about the moves that I was pulling off. Maybe it's because I'd skip Terrify, and no game went long enough.. so I had 2 hotkeys to even worry about?

Alt - Q Portal Key
Q Taunt

From there, not much other than attack. haha.

Was a lot of fun spending so much time in the jungle, only to emerge with a ton of items. I need to figure out how to combine creep camps though.

Speaking of hotkeys, have any of you guys remapped them? I don't find Alt-letters to be very convenient.

All my item slot hotkeys have been moved to 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Most convenient way to do it in my opinion since chances are your hands are always sitting on the QWE keys.

Hmm that's an idea, but I always bind my hero to the 1 key so I can easily get back to him. I suppose I could get used to using the C key, but then how do you control Wildsoul + Booboo? Or how will I deal when they finally port my favorite hero Meepo over?

I use the alt for items, haven't had an issue, but I've been using alt keys forever in mmos so I'm used to them. I tend to place items always on the same keys though(alt Q E A mostly).

Anyway it seems like the betabeta patch is gonna go live soon, but without matchmaking. At least that's what I think some guy from S2 said on IRC, they're having more trouble than expected with matchmaking(not surprising) and they don't want to push it to "live" beta because people are fucking tards and will nerdrage if something doesn't work in beta. More info will come later today though, we'll see. Really wanna play Silencer though, and earlier I was like in a SD game, and had panda and was like oh nice gonna play him, then remembered the changes weren't live

. Well more than Silencer, I wanna play Lion, so the sooner they patch these 2 in, the sooner Lion will be ready(I guess).

I cannot for the life of me imagine how someone could be looking forward to playing Lion. Lion is without a doubt the most boring hero in dota. At least you can do funny shit with other mass disablers like pollywog with ward trapping. Nothing fun about being mass disabling with lion. x2 on silencer though. The first few days when he goes live are going to be hilarious with people having no idea how curse of the silent works.

People often seem to say Lion is boring, but don't know he has 4 active skills, one which requires some thought(line impale), and he's a perfect ganker with his CC+ulti. Also decent harass with his mana drain, he looks fun to me. His abilities aren't like WOW THAT'S SO ORIGINAL, but they get the job done. I'm sure there's plenty of other original heroes, like Puck or Dark Seer, that are worth porting, but Lion seems like a solid hero for any team, and his concept art looks so fucking awesome. Better than Razor or Spiritbreaker who look pretty fucking boring to me(yay more carries) too.

Just played a forced random game, and got Defiler. Was my first time ever playing her. She does some great damage. Stay back on team fights, spam wave, and pop Ulti, and you are bound to get a kill of some sort. haha

I'm absolutely stoked to hear about razor, was the first hero that I learned to play well, not counting techies.

Razor was revamped a few months ago so you may end up being disappointed if you wanted the original razor
