I'd pay $250 for a Pink Floyd/Zeppelin/Hendrix game in the blink of an eye.

Yeah, an all-Zep Rock Band would be really sweet and I could almost see myself spending $250 on that, unfortunately.

I think this Beatles set will be pretty cool. I don't think it will be that boring at all. They could do a lot of cool shit with the later songs and all their layered tracks (think of songs like A Day in the Life or I Am the Walrus). It would be really sweet if they had the opus on Abbey Road side two as an entire track, but I think I'm getting carried with a Beatles-lovegasm.

Obviously the idea is to court people that were not interested by the content of previous Rock Band editions. That's precisely why it is not a song pack like it would have been for Greenday or Nickelback. I can see it working pretty well IF they market it well.
This. I'm their target demographic. I go to my friends' house and play Rock Band all the time, but I only know a handful of songs cause I've never been a fan of rock. I know basically the ones that are on TV, movies, or super popular on radio mix stations.

The Beatles, however, are what I grew up on. If I had the spare cash I'd pick this up in a second. And fortunately all my friends who love rock are smart enough to also recognize and appreciate the Beatles as well.

My true dream is for Country Band, with washboard, banjo, and jug instruments.

Primus? Rush? Pink Floyd? Aerosmith from 1960 to 1979? I can think of lots.

Absolutely agreed. That still doesn't mean I can stand more than a handful of their songs.

JFC leave it to FoH to do something as rediculous as insult the Beatles. This is COMPLETELY SURPASSING Astrocreep's movie tastes.

the beatles are stupid. i always find it funny that people say that because of the beatles, music continued to be made. like music would have just stopped and no one woulda had any good ideas for music the rest of their lives.

its 2009

History has a different take on things. Like The Beatles or not, you can't deny what they've done for music. I mean, I think Bob Dylan sucks, but I will never doubt his importance and influence.

Anyway, we're talking about Rock Band here, not whether or not The Beatles are good.

That's pretty cool and all - but I don't remember anything particularly technical about their music. Wouldn't 95% of the songs be pretty easy in a RB/GH style game?

Thats particularly my thought too, as nice as it is for some people to have access to the beatles (my girlfriends mother thinks its cool?) a younger generation is going to laugh this off in both lack of difficulty and 'boring' music.

I for one only play rockband for songs that are challenging. But really its to each their own.. Harmonix wants to spread their seed as if they were blizzard, so they will.

I am surprised they haven't made a GH/RB country version yet. I would think that would sell pretty well.

They're filling this niche with the track packs. So far, the only bands to get their own games have been Aerosmith, AC/DC (kinda their own game) and Metallica, with the Beatles coming up. So yeah, uber bands get their own shit, and everything else is track packs, including genres of music.

I'm fine with it mostly, although it's been awhile since they released anything I was interested in. I'm still waiting for my NOFX or Bad Religion pack

I don't understand the extreme fanboiism over the Beatles. Don't get me wrong I have some of their vinyl's...but sorry... their music is not good enough to warrant their albums and music being so expensive.
Not to mention their music is not technical enough to warrant a RB/GH game.

$250 for a Beatles game... sorry no. I'll never EVER pay that much for a game. Especially, for The Beatles.

I think someone like Garth Brooks is easily as big as Metallica. And I haven't even seen any track packs for country. I am not even a country fan, just saying it seems to be a market/genre they are ignoring.
