| I have high hopes for this. I loved the first one and I am excited to see what direction they take the story. I really need to sit down and give it another play through. This time being a good guy instead of taking all the asshole paths heh. |

+166 Internets | The stories were good as they fit into the main plot line. The problem was every planet was exactly the goddamn same and all the interiors were also pretty much identical. I mean I know modular design is king as is but c'mon...nobody owns posters in the future? Pretty much agree on all points though. Just give the Mako a low altitude fighter instead of a land rover and we're tits. The real question is how will they handle the sex? The Witcher really set the bar high on that one. I've been playing that for 3 hours and have banged three chicks already. It's a good thing I'm immune to diseases the way women whore themselves at me. If I'm not getting more alien poon then Kirk during a Star Trek marathon I'll be sorely dissapointed. |

That being said, I still can't complete ME because it 100% crashes at a certain cutscene. So I'll pirate this one too. | |

+9 Internets | If you're interested in learning more about the Mass Effect universe, two excellent novels by the same writer as the game have been released already. One takes place 20 years prior to the events of the game, and stars young Lieutenant Anderson in his first encounter with Saren and his attempt to become the first Human Spectre, and the other novel takes place after the game, in the aftermath of Sovereign's defeat, and involves a lot of Cerberus and the Shadow Broker. Here is a shameless plug to the thread I devoted to those (short but good) books. |

| I did not experience a single crash on the D2D version in 2 complete playthroughs.

+3 Internets | Mine on PC only crashed maybe every 4 hours or so completely randomly, but it always seemed to have something to do with a popup at desktop. I was preparing to play this again yesterday but as soon as I loaded it up there was some LOUD background noises in the game that couldn't be fixed by sliding the audio bars. Since I've been getting used to console gaming again and haven't touched the PC outside of L4D and sometimes TF2, I've started to forget just how much work I went through with drivers and tweaking other shit to get games to work. And I also forgot how much of a pain in the ass it was and that I didn't miss it at all. So I decided to get it for 360 for $15, because I really want to play this again, and would rather play this on the couch with a 42" and surround sound than even bother fixing PC issues, even if the controls are a little worse. Now I don't know what it is about this game, but I played it only a few months ago and yet it gives me such strong feelings of nostalgia. As soon as I loaded this up on the 360 and heard the intro music I was grinning from ear to ear. Once gameplay started it only got even better. I mean christ, I've only played this game a short time ago and yet it feels like I'm returning to FF7 with this game. Regardless, I'm having an amazing time playing this again, so much so that the slightly shittier controls don't bother me the slightest. |

+9 Internets | By the way, if anyone is considering buying the first game after reading this thread, I read recently that Bioware is about to re-release it in a new collector's packaging with the original game on DVD, another DVD containing the downloadable 360 content, behind the scenes, commentaries, artwork, etc... for the low low price of about 25$ (if I recall correctly). |

| Its funny. The Mass Effect thread we spent so much time talking about the bugs and shortcomings of the game. Yet, in the end, really enjoyed it. I loved it. Alot. If they fix the issues the game had, and keep the good stuff, Mass Effect 2 will be amazing. I really want to work on a side-story comic for the universe. Bioware is working with Darkhorse for SW:TOR. I missed them at NYCC. |
