+6 Internets | Ridge Racer (judging from previous versions) is an arcade game. It is very low on simulation. It's not a bad game, but it's not the same as racing simulators. GT5:P is a good simulator. It's half a game though, and doesn't have any of the fun car upgrading business that made the first 4 great. Imo, wait for the full version. Forza is the XBox version of GT and pretty much just as good. Wipeout HD is an amazing racing game, but obviously has nothing to do with cars or simulation. I'd take it over Ridge Racer though. GRID is supposed to be the best available for PS3, but I haven't tried it. Check out gamerankings.com for some reviews. |

GRID is awesome. All that's missing is maybe car upgrade options (like in GT4). I tried the RR7 demo and didn't like it at all... felt bland. GT5:P is, as you said, half a game. It's cool to see what's coming up, can give you weeks/months of playtime, but it's still not complete... I'd go with GRID for now, and GT5 when it comes out.

+17 Internets | Bought Burnout Paradise for 24$ used, and Froza 2 for 12$ used at gamestop. They cover all my racing needs.

+10 Internets | trackmania nations forever. it is free, they have more advanced versions with game styles ect but the free version is great to get a feel for the game. also has 3D glasses support so if you picked up those 3D glasses for the superbowl commercials you can play this in 3D mode. i need to find a pair been wanting to try it out. arcade style racing, online support, loops, jumps very unrealistic but very fun and fairly unique style game. |

| If you're looking for a racing sim you can check out Iracing. It's for the more serious sim racer though and you'll need a wheel/pedals setup for your PC. It's also all online racing against real people, there is no AI mode. Several real race car drivers race on this service and it's not unusual to be in a race against Dale Earnhardt Jr. Last edited by Gordish; 02-03-2009 at 07:45 AM.. |
