My god that actually looks... good. Like... really good. I refuse to believe a batman game can be good though. I'm sure they'll massively fuck up the controls or something...

I love Mark Hamil's Joker. Worth the price of admission alone.

The game reminds me a lot of Chronicles of Riddick: Butcher Bay, at least visually. If the game is even close to being that good, this will have finally broken the Batman game curse.

Amen. Mark Hamil's Joker is amazing. I will probably pick this up solely for that reason.

Hey there have been good Batman games. Just not since the SNES/Genesis.

Damn right. The SNES game based on the animated series was pure gold.

About this game, it looks really promising. Feels like it has some infiltration parts and some pure fighting, with a lot of cutscenes and interaction with the Joker. If they involve some more of the other cool villains (we already know Killer Croc is in), this is going to be very good.

Hands On Review of Batman

Joystiq impressions: Batman: Arkham Asylum - Joystiq

Sounds pretty cool

Detective mode HUD looks pretty slick.

Hmm, embedding doesn't seem to work.

Haha taking out a whole room of bad guys without them even knowing where you are while Hamil's Joker rambling over the intercom is fairly $$. Glad to see its not just a straightforward beat-em up,at least so far.

Wow, that gameplay reminded me of Hitman.

Makes this game worth picking up.

My only worry is it wil get repetative. When you have gameplay like this, it becomes to easy to let the 'gimic' become the only way to play. I hope this game doesn't play like

enter room
bat grapple to a high point
wait for guard to be alone
swoop n knock out
bat grapple to a high point
wait for a guard to be alone
....

Yeah I'm hoping they keep the high grapples few and far between so you have to actually sneak around on the ground or in vents and the like.

This game is shaping up to exceed my expectations. Let's hope it stays that way.

I got a strange Too Human feel from that gameplay with all the bouncing from enemy to enemy.
