| I can't melee worth a shit. Guys run out of my field of view before I can land a punch. So while I am swinging at air, they are already shooting me from behind. They even backpedal, kiting me, as I run at them until I give up and fire my range attacks. I have gotten pretty good at the range attacks, though. At first I was like you, where I would miss all the time and they move around, so I can't just take my sweet time aiming. I found it is much better to always move and spam the button, even if you just strafe side to side. First, you get hit less. Second, moving your feet is a slower/finer aim adjustment than moving the camera. If you are down and left of a headshot, you can easily walk forward and right to nail it. Also, once I got the Precision power, it got a lot easier to snipe. I don't actually fire the Precision shot because a) it costs way too much energy and b) I actually don't get a headshot that often with it. I use it for the slowmotion, so I don't die while I get my reticle roughly into position. Then I release it and spam away with my free basic attack while strafing side to side a bit.

| The guy at the local Gamestop here talk this game up something fierce, and I just ignored him thinking he was trying to make a sale. After reading this thread though, starting to think he was legit about it being a great game. I'm gonna have to check this out.

| Hmm, trying to decide between this, RF:Guerrilla and UFC, all totally different games pretty much but I'm trying to keep my games buying in check and not just rushing out buying stuff I play for an hour and never touch again. Enjoyed the demo's for all 3 sadly, help me FOH, you're my only hope. |

+11 Internets | I'd say so, yes. If you totally dig the demo, you will probably like the full game as much. There is definitely repetitiveness near the end but that's actually one of my smaller gripes. |

From everything I've heard about RF:G, that's your rental. Blowing up enviros is cool and all but I've heard the game itself is only so so. So my opinion for order of buys would be: 1. Infamous. 2. UFC. 3. RF:G Edit: You might want to throw Prototype into the mix there too. Little early to tell but the open-world 3rd person style seems reminiscent of Infamous (so if you like Inf you will probably like Prototype too). Last edited by Drajakur; 06-10-2009 at 07:35 AM.. | |

| Before I go out and get this game today.. Couple questions.. 1. Is it worth buying? 2. Does it have the gameplay hours to warrant buying it?

+11 Internets | If you like the demo and fully intend to play through twice (once evil, once good) then I'd say yes. I'm probably 20+ hours in (if not more) and still haven't beat hard though I'm trying to get 100% of the dead drops/shards/stunts. |

+3 Internets | Yeah, the demo is spot on for how the game is. You do a missions in it... and the game is basically more than a hundred of those (39 story missions, usually more complex than the demo... + 100 side missions: 70 neutral, 15 good, 15 bad) plus open world, plus the ability to go good or bad (a couple of different powers and different play philosophy... dont care about civilians if you're bad... so replayability potential). If I could have just gotten it from Gamefly and played it off and on for a month or two I'd (personally, due to my gaming ADD) have been better off, but I'm happy to support making this kind of game, they did a good job. If you liked the demo you won't be disappointed. The same goes for UFC (love the demo, Gamefly delivering it today... it's the demo + create a player + online basically... so demo good representation of the important part... gameplay) and probably Red Faction (which I hated the demo for). | Decided on Infamous in the end, playing through as good and it's so far pretty great, got prototype for the pc, doesn't seem as good at all in any regard. It has has a higher score on MC at the moment but I think that's due to the fact only a few reviews are in and from mediocre sources. |

+7 Internets | I have been playing through on Evil these past few days. i am really feeling like this game was initially created to only be played as good and they threw in the evil aspect of it last minute. Ex: Why the fuck would I care about helping a medic get supplies back or recovering his clinic when i can heal myself with Electricity? I am aware that you respawn at the closest clinic when you die, but seriously... You are evil. You wouldnt care. Other missions too, besides the actual evil missions, make me feel like youre a hero without the title. Even though i can mow through everything as evil, playing good actually felt rewarding- avoiding the innocent while snuffing out the bad guys. I get Prototype today. We will see. +3 Internets | Finished my first run as Good on hard mode. I recommend Hard mode, I think it would be a little easy on lower difficulty. I have to say that game was worth every dollar I paid for it. Normally I am a bit flaky with games, I play four or five at once and bounce between them. I didn't touch another game beginning to end playing inFamous or in fact much of anything else. Everything gelled, gameplay, story, atmosphere, power design. Awesome game. |
