| Game of the Year, 2008 Well guys, it's that time again. We saw many games released all throughout 2008--many great ones, many major disappointments. Feel free to post the one game that you thought was the top dog this year. Also, feel free to post which game was the biggest disappointment for you. My choice for game of the year would probably be Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii. Other top choices for me were Final Fantasy CC: My Life as a King (Wiiware), MegaMan 9, and Rock Band 2. Biggest disappointments: Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (DS), Spore.

+79 Internets | Indie game "World of Goo". Two guys and made it and 1000's of people stole it, and it is awesome. Going to stick with "World of Goo" was the first thing that came to mind. Last edited by Hatorade; 12-12-2008 at 05:21 PM.. |

+26 Internets | GoW2 was disappointing with the multiplayer issues. Even after they somewhat fixed matchmaking, it's still gayed due to the host advantage being back, and crazier than ever. My vote goes to Fallout 3. |

| Is this our personal thoughts or what we think we will win on some TV show? Spike's VGA are this Sunday iirc. I'd have to go with FO3. I can see GTA4 giving it a run in the mass media though. Quote:

+3 Internets | GTA4 would be my GOTY followed by Fallout 3, LBP, and MGS4. I think MGS4 got as much hype due to it's franchise as GTA did, and LBP while not for me I can appreciate the ambitious design. I've got Gears2, just haven't played it much yet. L4D very good, just not sure it's worth GOTY. If WiiFit gets it or something, I may cry. |

| Left4Dead hands down. Its just so fun. I've never seen a game that just asked to be talked about. You can not play this game and not want to share a story about what happened with like 20 people. Every time you play, you come out wanted to tell people about that smoker that pulled you off the ledge at just the worst time, or the tank that spawned as you turned a corner, or how that witch was blocking the safehouse as you limped towards it, witht he rest of your team dead, etc. The co-op nature of the game is amazing as well. The way the game forces the teams to work together is fantastic. Something no other game has seemed to create on such a great level. Did I mention it's absurdly fun? +19 Internets | Probably Gears 2 for me. Lame multiplayer issues aside, I probably played through the main campaign 4 or 5 times with different friends and horde mode remains a lot of fun. The (few) big private matches I've played have also been great, but public is horrible ![]()
