I never used the wrench after the first initial level, later in the game it became quite useless. Without the plasmids and genes anyway.

+38 Internets | Well thats the thing. The way I saw it, the plasmids and gene tonics did nothing to help your ranged firepower. They had some minimal effect on eating, or hacking etc. But the real gems were wrench enhancements. Between fast movement, enhanced sneaking, and the whole host of wrench damage/freeze/electric upgrades, no ranged weapon could possibly compete. The only thing I used ranged weapons on were Big Daddies. Other than that, you could do way more damage, and take way less damage by screaming in berserk rage and charging splicers swinging your wrench with reckless abandon. Explosive shotgun shells, anti-personel rounds, and grenade launcher ammo was really quite powerful, but kind of scarce. I had to save it for Big Daddies. And to be perfectly honest, my reflexes and aiming suck after years of MMOs. Its just sooooo much easier hide in the shadows and wrench people. Kind of like batman. With the wrencharang. +19 Internets | I dunno about taking less damage. Between stand-still stealth and Decoy, you can pretty much go the rest of the game without getting hit. Arrow headshots were basically 1-shot kills, and you could mine/tripmine around decoys for hilarious kills. The setup takes longer but meh. What I liked about Bioshocks combat/gameplay is I could just switch to whatever overpowered combo I felt like doing at the time. Wrench a bit, snipe a bit, make some traps, or just waste hundreds of dollars on explosives/chemical goo and go to town :P Game wasn't all that hard to beat without dying anyway. The first big daddy is the only real stumbling block, but there's enough terrain to fuck with it's AI (and I'm pretty sure you don't even have to kill it that early if you don't want too, could just come back for it).

+5 Internets | Man when I saw the new artwork, something inside me died. I had suspected from the beginning that a BioShock sequel was going to completely miss the mark on what makes the game so fantastic, and instead capitalize on the things that are essentially superficial details. Well, everyone saw this coming really. It could come back and blow me away, but right now that "big sister" design is looking fucking horrendous. |

| Well it looks better then what I thought it would. But we'll see about the story. The Drill looked sweet. I was kinda hoping after 7 years that some of rapture would be 'rebuilt' Otherwise what did we really do in the first one.
