+166 Internets | The 30 second review thread Many forums have these, figured we should too as they are insanely helpful. The idea: Pick up a game and play it. Check to see if someone else has already reviewed it. If they said basically what you would say, don't bother posting. If a game already has 3 reviews, don't bother posting. If you just want to comment on someone elses review, don't bother posting. Rate it on a scale of 1 to 5. 5 being the best, 1 being the worst. Make sure you include important information such as name, platform, release date and genre. Use Wikipedia to get this information if you have to. Then, write a short 30 second blurb justifying your score. Some things to mention is visuals, fun, controls, length. Again, make sure it's a quick review. Hopefully people can use this as a launching pad, maybe find games they may be interested in. Can then search this forum because we almost always have a thread devoted to any given game with more information. Use this format: Name - (Platforms, Date/Year release, Genre) - Score Review Quick Example: Assassin's Creed - (360/ps3/PC, November 14, 2007, Action/Stealth) - 3 Beautiful game, interesting story, neat concepts and gameplay is ok. However, the very repetitive nature of the game ruins what would have been an otherwise great addition to my gaming library. Worth renting but don't bother buying. Looks like it's made for an eight year old, but I guarantee adults will be scratching their heads at the puzzles and will feel very accomplished after beating. One of the best Wii games in my library.

+5 Internets | Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3, October 23, 2007, Action/Platforming) - 4 Respected as the first game to bring the feeling of playing a Pixar movie to a video game. Writing is light-hearted and clever, voice acting and cut scenes are polished, graphics are beautiful. Gameplay is varied and fun, a mix of platforming and combat with an array of weapons. Controls can be odd for those used to FPS games. |

+5 Internets | No More Heroes (Wii, January 22, 2008, Action/Arcade) - 4 Grasshopper Manufacturer's Suda51 is notorious for his unorthodox style, which many gamers may find inaccessible. No More Heroes manages to combine over-the-top violence, satirical humor, excellent art and engaging gameplay in a much more playable, polished package, which plays more like an arcade hack n' slash than an adventure game. Performance issues are rampant, but don't detract from enjoyment. |

| Fifa '08 (360, October 8, 2007, Sports) - 4.5 Procs - Realistic physics, expansive and graceful (but not overpowered) trick system, good graphics, good control, realistic gameplay (i.e. bike kicks are rare). Cons - Winning / aiming headers is very difficult, AI of teammates when receiving a pass is horrid. |

+78 Internets | Gladius (Playstation 2/Xbox/Gamecube 2003 Turn based RPG) 4.5 One of the most overlooked FFT type games ever. It has incredible depth two main chars a swing meter and 100's of hours of play time. Down sides are the Male story line gets really hard really fast. The amount of things to do can be overwhelming. GameCube has best version. Last edited by Hatorade; 10-17-2008 at 10:53 AM.. |

+11 Internets | Bioshock (PC/360/PS3, Aug '07, FPS) - 3.5 Steampunkish FPS with some unique combat elements, nice artwork, and a really cool setting/storyline. Actual gameplay is awkward and repetitive. Game world is overly dark (think Doom 3). Worth a rental. |

+5 Internets | Braid - (360, August 6, 2008, Puzzle/Platform) - 4 Gorgeous game. Amazing soundtrack. Challenging puzzles. The main downside is a disjointed storyline. It is also fairly short for it's $15 price tag. It's worth a purchase if you have an empty backlog but given the chance, I'd wait for a price drop.

| Combat Arms - (PC, 2007, FPS) - 4.7 Free FPS with a pre-game 'waiting room' GUI similar to early Rainbow 6 series games like Rogue Spear, and gameplay similar to Counter-Strike 1.3. Tons of mayhem going on, faced paced action with almost a deathmatch feel. Great and free fun for hours with no advertisements (yet)? |

| Lost Odyssey (360, 2008, RPG) - 4.8 Beautiful graphics, very well-written story and (for once) well-done English voice acting, and Uematsu outdoes himself with his soundtrack. About the only drawbacks to this game would be some of the side quests and the difficulty swings in some places (from easy to hard to obnoxious and back) If you like RPGs, play this shit; Mistwalkers deserves the support for this title. |

+20 Internets | Warhammer Online - (PC, 2008, MMO) - 3.8 You are going to get stuck with a bunch of fucking retards in your Scenario. Graphics are not super but conducive to many people on-screen. Gameplay is like WoW but a little crappier in PvE and a little better in PvP. We all know you're buying it but going back to WoW Nov 17 unless you really really loved DAOC. |

| Arguementative | Mass Effect - (360, 2007, Action/RPG) - 4.7 Superb graphics, well-done storyline, lots to do outside of main missions (if you don't mind a bit of repetivity). Combat is also enjoyable. Dialog at times seems mediocre, inventory is hell, and if you don't complete side-missions the game can seem fairly short. But if you like Western RPG's, and science fiction, Mass Effect is definetly a game you should buy and play multiple times. No run through is quite the same. |

| Lost Odyssey (XBox 360, 2008, RPG) - 3.5 Chunky, studdering (but nice) graphics, and abysmal loading times especially by the time you get to disc 3-4. Story is great, but stalls exceptionally long in some areas it doesn't need to (i.e. "Lirum"). Tons of closeup face shots, but no characters show any emotion. Jansen single-handedly makes this game not painful. Worth a rent first. |
