+42 Internets | Uh, I generally played BG2 on max difficulty with a 4-5 man party. I have no idea what you mean by death touch from a vampire though - are you talking level drain? Negative energy protection sir. Mind flayers, on the other hand, can fucking suck. And of course demi lich with imprison, but that's an optional fight anyway. Now, improved demogorgon without trap-sploiting can be a bit of luck of the draw if you fight him at an early level. Everything else in the game was more than fair. God, such epic battles in that game. |

| BG2 is hand down, without a doubt, my favorite game ever. You def have to think a lot more and plan a lot more, but that is what makes it such a great game. It has so much more depth to combat than any JRPGs because you can't just autopilot through, you need to be aware of what enemies you are facing and what their abilities are and how you are going to have to deal with it. I played it through with npc party, full self-made party, and solo monk. Thinking about it again makes me want to try solo wizard.. |

Go take a look at SMT 1, SMT 2, SMT 3 (Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne), Persona 3, Digital Devil Saga Part 1, Digital Devil Saga Part 2. All of those require as much if not more preparation and understanding of what you are fighting then BG1/2. Most of the videos on youtube don't really show the true difficulty of the fights. A large portion of them is figuring out what will work for you, and devising your own strategy. Seriously, what the crap is with people and maxing out their levels :| I should record underleveled fights.

+4 Internets | I will be dissapointed if Fallout 3 doesnt use the turned based combat system from from Fallout 1 and 2. The continious turned based system from Fallout Tactics I never really liked. Gimme aimed shot in the eye and move out of range any day of the week ![]() |

| Somehow I don't think Oblivion-with-guns is going to meet the criteria of this thread's topic. And Vinen, I'd say Atlus games are the exception rather than the rule. I'd love for them to make PC versions of their stuff. :/ Last edited by Vorph : 07-02-2008 at 12:49 PM. |
