+8 Internets | Spectromancer Couldn't find anything about this posted here: Spectromancer A friend linked this to me last night and I've been playing it quite a bit. It's developed by Richard Garfield, the guy behind M:TG, amongst other people. Gameplay wise it's basically a super boiled down M:TG; a lot of elements have been taken out like mana and phases, and as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be much in the way of deck building. You can pretty much just jump right in and learn how to play it within one game. There's multiplayer as well but I haven't tried it out yet.

+12 Internets | will try it out when i get home. It's strange that M:TG hasn't made anything successful on console/pc as something other than a CCG. The world is overflowing with lore, wonder if they'd ever make an mmo? Last edited by Zarcath : 06-27-2008 at 05:44 PM. |

+8 Internets | I've pondered that before too, especially after playing the old Microprose game where it was basically an RPG where you walked around fighting mobs for cards. It could certainly work, and open up some roads for unique game systems/mechanics. Take the land/mana concept and apply it to an MMO's geography where simply being near a thick forest might enhance a player's green spells or something, and give incentives to choose the right spec or spells depending on what you're planning on doing. And of course they've already got plenty of landscape to explore, alter planes, different timelines and all that essential expansion material crap. And let's not even get started on potential raid bosses. :P

| Pretty cool. Wizards wrecked MTGO with version 3.0. Still no multiplayer... 2.5 was so much better... Anyway I always like to see new card games. One of my all time favorite games is Etherlords II. Unfortunately card type games don't gain much popularity. |

+21 Internets | Etherlords II def was right up there, still play it once in a while and always seem to find new decks to build.
