I could be wrong, though.

| Either someone would try to dump the WiiWare data and see if they can't piece together a working NES rom, or a neurotic MM fan will hand draw the sprites and modify a rom from the NES games. |

| To those who really hate this, that's fine, but moving straight to an HD sprite in this series would be a drastic change in art style. The HD Street Fighter screen is a pretty clear extension of a graphically complicated early 90s gaming palette. Doing a similar revival of Mega Man would mean changing the art, because 8bit technology was primitive enough to require special art to not look like shit. Now if you think 8bit mega man looks like shit, okay. A lot of people enjoy the style, however. Wall-E easter egg spoiler: Spoiler Alert, click show to read: |

+107 Internets | Yes, the 'pixelated' style thing is one thing. Using 5 colors on-screen, however, is lame. You can still do that style and make it look like a game that pays homage to games from 1985 and not one that was actually made in 1985. Yes, Street Fighter 2 was technologically better than Mega Man, even back then. That doesn't mean you can't retain the look and style of Mega Man, while also giving it more colors and a higher resolution. 8-bit Mega Man does look like shit. But only now. It looked cool back in the day, but graphics are relative to the available technology. Again, I bring up the Bionic Commando. Awesome game, that got a killer facelift, but is still that classic game. I'm really not bitching about this game, because in the end I don't care. I'm not going to buy it. I'm just confused over anyone defending the look of it. |

I just love the look of pixels and sprites, and the size of the palette isn't really much of an issue past a certain point. | |

![]() I do agree that the stages could use some work though, at least from the screenshots.

+79 Internets | I know it is first footage but it looks like shit. I have played all the megamans including the 3D one(/shudder) Next one I am hoping will have some amazing art on par with games like Odin Sphere. |

+19 Internets | holy crap, I can't believe they're reusing art from Bionic Commando in that game. The ground texture is clearly the same. Bunch of fucking lazy artists. How fucking hard is it to make ALL NEW GROUND.

+79 Internets | You know I don't think I would as critical if it was called Megaman Redux or something. Because it's 9 or the next in the original series I was expecting something so much cooler. |
