+5 Internets | Areas with towns in them give you cheaper prices. Areas without towns have a question mark box pop up after the auction which you can visit and get a free "local product" (some semi-rare loot item). At least that's what I saw after the first round of auctions. I wasn't able to become regional champ anywhere, so dunno what that does. Regarding recruiting, my first recruit was from a "New Clan Members" quest, showed up sometime in early winter, maybe right after the first auctions. After that, I started finding recruits following the rules laid out in the "New Recruits" note in the clan primer. A moogle pops up in Greenlands (question mark box) at the height of summer etc. The new members quest repops about 3 times a year as well. Note that the race you get is decided by the same rules as in the "New Recruits" note, while the class is decided by your answer to the questions. I'm liking the game, it's a worthy successor to the original, but there's a few things that really annoy the shit out of me: - Most classes have ability pools that are stupid shallow. Pretty much everyone I have that isn't a soldier/warrior has like 7 classes at level 20. I don't have my "white mage/archer". I have my "white mage/green mage/black mage/red mage/archer/sniper/elementalist/fencer". And I can only use two of those ability pools at a time, and none of them even supply any useful passives. - Lack of passive and reactive abilities. Where are my "Move +1", "Jump +2" and other generally useful passives? So far the only useful passive I have is shieldbearer and monkey grip, both of which are melee focused. - Difficulty leveling lesser played characters. If the game intends for you to have 20 useful characters, there has to be a system in place to level the ones you don't use all the time. Dispatching them on missions constantly gives them like one quarter of the xp as my main MVPs get in the same time frame. - "Choose the right person for the job" quests. The first one is fine, as it says you have to be able to weild a mace. The second one "Wanted: Sidekick" is hopelessly vague. Shit like that just encourages me to pick up a FAQ, and I really want to play through this game without one. Last edited by Elerion : 07-11-2008 at 05:05 AM. |

+12 Internets | do sidequests gradually add on? im on a mission where i have to kill dragons in thick magick' shit, they own me :\ yet all the sidequests are rank 16 44 and something else fairly high. perhaps i just fail balls at this game, but its stunting my will to progress further? perhaps my job makeup sucks as well |

+19 Internets | No Adjacent or No Area attacks is pretty gay too. Wish you could nullify or change laws like in 1. Seems like the fights have set laws too, I think in 1 they were chose randomly (like if you reset and tried the fight again it'd be different). |

| I'm trying to do the General clan trial, I had literally 1 mob left and I missed attacking from behind with 99% chance to hit making me lose the 3 turns condition, since then I haven't been able to do as well with the fight (first round was them mostly attacking rather than slowing, which I swear is a stackable debuff for some reason). Those other laws are gay, and while other laws are gay and penalize not paying attention, dumb luck as a penalty is really fucked up. |

| Maybe i'm just still new to all this, but i'm trying to figure out the point in the Clan Trials. It's like, there are 5 trials. 4 give +5-15 or so to a given Clan stat, and deduct from another stat. Then there's this General Training which is like, +15 to all stats. Why would I ever choose one of the other 4 over this one? I'm confused. |

| You do Clan Trials for new privileges and loot. Most of them are pretty dumb easy, and also it gets your score up early to make sure to qualify for all the quests as you get them. Actually the General Training trial is the only one I've had a problem with, granted I've not done the "easy" trials for it. |
