| I have it and played probably two or three hours last night. I just made it to the Citadel for 360 veterans. 2 thoughts: 1. NO DLC: Despite their promising it on the box, prior to and up to the release, the DLC is not ready. 2. The inventory is still rather clunky and not very user friendly. |

+2 Internets | How do you know there's no DLC if you just made it to the Citadel? You can't get to the DLC until you can leave the Citadel. *Edit* Nevermind, I saw on Bioware's forums that it's not included with the retail version of the game. It'll be a free download when it's available. Last edited by Njorls : 05-29-2008 at 05:51 AM. |

| Every "pure" class makes the game a completely different experience. I can't really recommend hybrid classes because you're basically weaker than the pure form of each, and gain not much from it. I did my first playthrough as a mix of Soldier and Engineer, so basically able to use all the guns and some electronic abilities (Overload and Sabotage are particularly useful in gunfights), but the most fun I've had was with a pure Biotic. There is something very reminiscent of Star Wars games being able to toss people across the room, freeze them in place, or levitate objects to drop them on unsuspecting mercenaries ducking behind a crate to ambush you. Pure Soldier is also quite fun, especially if you're either into the sneaky type then you can use your sniper rifle and if you use good mods you can pwn shit from so far away they can't even shoot you, or you can mod up your shotgun with the fusion explosive shells that make it heat up 500% more, basically turning it into a one-shot gun but it also transforms your shotgun into what I'd call a grenade launcher, because every single shell explodes and tosses enemies into the air as burning pieces of flesh and scrap metal. Anyways, lots of fun to be had in this game, and I really recommend it for anyone who's having doubts about it. |

+69 Internets | Well my D2D install worked fine and everything is playing great at highest settings. I went with the stock character my first time. Is there any difference in dialog or things missed if you make a custom character? |

Depending on your original choice, stellar, colon or terran, and depending on your backstory, war hero, survivor or I forget the last one, you'll get a special backstory / origin mission during the game, and some unique dialogue options. It's actually rather intesting to see and I recommend choosing a different origin and backstory when you try to play another class to see all the different options. Also, depending on who is on your team, you'll get different reactions, and sometimes no reaction at all. My favorite team members are Liara and Wrex.. Liara is just amazed by absolutely virtually anything at all she sees in the galaxy, and Wrex is just the complete opposite.. he hates everything, he is jaded about everything, he doesn't even see the glass half empty, he just wants to break the glass. Definately Wrex as funniest team member in the game. | |

| Yeah well her being a Soldier and all, but I was annoyed by her voice, and getting to know her better in conversations onboard the Normandy just made me want to avoid her as much as possible. I find Wrex to be quite a beast too, since he can use all the guns but can also levitate and toss some of the enemies that seem to never run out of energy shields or regeneration (especially in higher difficulty levels, but I don't see any reason to play insane difficulty on anything but X360 for the achievements since nothing else changes in the game, and shooting at a basic Geth Trooper for 5 minutes straight sure doesn't make it very immersive..). |

+16 Internets | Yeah, if you're playing through the game (at least on your first run-through) without Wrex, you're doing yourself a great disservice. He's a fucking tank in combat and spits endless sickness from his lips. You'll feel like 20x the badass rolling around with him in your party. |

+2 Internets | Dunno how much the PC has changed things, but coming from the 360: Don't play a soldier. The game isn't that great a shooter to warrant a purely-shooter experience (IMO). Immunity is great, but you can go infiltrator and get more abilities and shit. And if you really want to use a shotgun/assault rifle, farm the AR/Shotgun achievement with a soldier on the first level (kill everything/reload checkpoint) until it unlocks then make a infiltrator with whatever bonus weapon talent you want. FWIW, the AR is basically worthless anyway. As far as allies go, I find Ashley useless. The ally AI is fairly bad and horribly inaccurate. They'll often shoot repeatedly at enemies well behind cover. Wrex is pretty much better than Ashley in every possible way. He's got biotics, immunity, and every weapon (sans sniper which for the AI IMO is pretty damn bad) and a much better racial. Tali, the blue chick, and Wrex are IMO the best allies. I liked Kaiden more than Garrus, but neither impressed me as much as the other 3. Don't use an all human team.

| Good to know. I've got Wrex and Tali both saved up for my playthrough on Insanity. Going through Hardcore now with an Infiltrator with Liara and Ashley. I found my first playthrough using a Vanguard (Soldier/Biotic) to be incredibly fun, though Infiltrator is starting to grow on me a little. I also really liked Garrus as a teammate. |
