Okay, sorry, I've derailed enough. Hopefully you'll forgive me, especially if you look in the House thread at the cuddy pictures I posted earlier ![]()

| One half of me says that Rare just turned into Sega, saying "gamers dont just want to play the same games over again", which just resulted in them raping their IP in the ass. The other half says this actually has the potential to be done really well, and I havnt been turned off by what Ive seen.

| The graphics look nice and the game itself does not look as horrible as some people here claim it to be. That said, I can understand where the hate is coming from because as someone who played the first two games, I really wish this one had stayed true to the old school platformer genre it came from. Nowadays, most of the platformer games tend to look for a gimmick to renew the genre, and because of that, the genre itself has changed and needs more old school platformers like Mario and such. Hell, even Mario Galaxy had the gravity gimmick.. we need more awesome platformers like Oddworld (PS2, stay away from the Xbox abomination).. |

| The issue is that they showed us this amazingly stylized and awesome teaser months ago, and the trailer is nothing like it. I was really looking forward to the world that teaser...teased, and now that I know its gone, I really just can't get into this. Seriously, how do you not want this?? |

+2 Internets | The level at the end of the teaser looks exactly like the one in Nuts and Bolts to me, just no vehicle is shown. I honestly have to say I'm not understanding the hate for this game either. N&B looks to still keep to the fundamentals of the series but it just incorporates a customizable vehicle rather than a traditional character. I'm not saying the vehicle mechanic is going to be good or anything but I definitely think it is too early to be hating on it, especially when the original team who did B&K is still intact. This really reminds me of the difference between Jak and Daxter and Jak 2. The game was very different from the first but the fundamentals were left intact and it turned out to be a good game. |

| You're kidding right? They are completely different. Nuts and Bolts takes a patchwork approach and has weak hills and no real grass, the sky is fake, the world is very horizontal. The teaser world is completely the opposite, it is a very surreal but realistic world with huge towering mountains and strange windy roads, the grass/atmosphere looks a lot more realistic and feels a lot more like a Banjo game. I honestly have no idea what similarities you see between the two. Last edited by Ninajrr : 05-14-2008 at 07:59 AM. |
