| In the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. ~Barack Obama | KI wasn't anywhere near as technical as MK or SNK or VF etc etc etc but it did have its high end players. Watching two guys who knew what they were doing, go at it was exctascy (read: eye candy) Jago vs Fulgore battles with players who knew what they were doing? Like watching a non-stop fluid battle with massive combo breakers and reverse combo's.. fuck yes

As a casual game, though, where people don't progress up the learning curve and only fight similarly skilled players, it was fun. In KI's defense, I guess, I still think the reason fighting games aren't as popular as they used to be (after the death of the Arcades, anyways), is that they're too complicated. Many times a person won't know why they lost to a skilled VF or Tekken or SF player and that doesn't really encourage them to try again. I don't blame them, either. Saw a guy on VF 5 on X-Box Live the other day who was like 40 wins and over 500 losses. He was the exception to most people quitting after that amount of crushing. +15 Internets | Meh sf2 was easy to pick up(once you got past all the buttons) and hard to master. To me KI always seemed east to pick up and once you tried to master it you realized how shallow it was and got bored. I'm no elitist tourney fag, just when I really like a combative game I like to get better, which I why I know wow pvp, and even smash bros(have not played brawl yet) have depth to them. All my memories of having fun with KI was fucking around with friends, not constantly heading to the arcades to get better like I did with Tekken 3. |

| I loved KI just for the reasons people are saying it sucked. It was really simple to pick up and just have fun with. You didnt have to spend 6 hours a day perfecting your fighting style like those other games. I lost interest in VF in about 15 minutes of playing. It was just WAY to complex. Yea KI was simple after each of you could break each others combo's after 2 hits, but up until that point it was a blast. That and just watching the combo's was pretty damn cool. =) And fuck yes on the graphics/sound. Absolutely A++ stuff. |
