| DS/GBA "must haves"? I've been poking around this forum and haven't been able to dig up too many recommendations for DS/GBA games other than the Final Fantasy series types. I looked around the net and most of the recommendations are infested with Pokemon titles, so figured I'd ask. I've had a DS for a little while and have some games, but looking to get some more since I still play it frequently. Genre isn't too big of a deal, I'm an old school gamer, so I typically can pick up just about anything and wear it out. But no Pokemon please, and I'm avoiding FF games because I have worn most of them out (although don't hesitate to recommend them to others if you like). What I have already: DS Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Contra 4 Final Fantasy 3 GBA Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Final Fantasy 4 Final Fantasy 1&2: Dawn of Souls Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Mega Man Zero 4 Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

+1 Internets | Well to start with, you simply can't go wrong with Pokemon. I would suggest getting all three versions so that you can have easier access to all of the starters and exclusives. then... Advance wars (all are great, but if you have a DS, then I'd get the latest of the DS versions) New Super Mario Bro's If you use your DS for the ultra casual, then a compilation like Clubhouse games can be great to have around. It's got 30 or so different traditional games, like Solitaire, Poker, Chess, Backgammon etc etc

| just went back and reread OP, didn't notice your disinterest in pokemon. Any reason why? If you're not interested simply because they seem childish you're missing out. The gameboy Pokemon games are one of the best handheld RPG series ever. |

| Also one of the most strategic games ever when it comes to battling, the amount of depth the game actually has when you play to battle or breed is somewhat staggering, especially when most people think the game is just aimed at kids in their ignorance >_> |

+10 Internets | Rhythm Tengoku Gold really put a smile to your face. It is suposed to be released outside japan at some point, but I wonder how they will translate some of the mini games that are very much tied to japanese songs (yet playable without understanding japanese). Plus this game without Akarui Rock 'n Roll would not be the same (go to 1'50'' to skip the tutorial)
