| Indiana Jones for Atari - don't jump down off the bottom of the screen first... use your grenade on the right wall to open up another area. You need the parachute before you can jump down past the tree branch, though that's about as far as I got/remember. This is assuming I'm remembering the same game you're talking about. |

| I grew up in the 80's, and all the games were hard back in the day. You young whippersnappers get to play on easy mode. Back in my day, there was one difficulty level (Suicidal). I made it 1.5 times through GnG, Ninja Gaiden, and every 2D Metroid game. I also beat several Mega Man games and Contra with no cheat code. For GnG, you have to beat it twice. They turn up the difficulty after you beat it the first time around. I made it halfway through the second time around before I figured it wasn't worth the headache. I was in college at the time, so I had the free time. If I liked a game that was hard, I would just play it non-stop because I wanted to see the ending. I didn't really focus on how hard it was. As far as Silver Surfer goes, it was incredibly hard, but there was no reason to play. After all, here's a guy who is supposed to be as invulnerable as Superman, and anything in the game can one-shot him. After my best friend and I died too many times from colliging with a random alien duck (no kidding) or died from barely touching the walls, we stopped playing. The game is just so far from continuity that there is no reason to play. P.S.: Nowadays developers want people to make it to the end of the game, and feel that if people can't win, its poor game design. Back in my day, it was the total opposite. Hardest game I never beat was Legacy of the Wizard, which my uncle bought for me. Seriously, I never even made it a quarter of the way through. | |

| I was like 7 when Indiana Jones came out on the Atari. I got in trouble for something, and wasn't allowed to play the 2600 for a week. During that time, like an alcoholic's revelation, I figured the god-damned game out . Once I realized I had to match the "mound" with the Tomb of Souls "mound", then bought a shovel, avoided the fucking asps, dug there, escaped the Tsetse flies, and brought it back, I WON!! And got the start screen. No credits, no Indy Hat for me. =( edit: Actually it was called "Raiders of the Lost Ark" not Indiana Jones, Gamefaqs ftw. +6 Internets | I spent no joke easily 100 hours figuring out where to go to get the first crown in that game. After you reach that point though, you get a feel for where to go with each character and it's pretty straightforward. |

The hardest part of that game to me was getting the grappling hook right without falling into the water.

This seriously might be the worst game of all time. I'm glad I didn't spend more time on it than I did. ET for as much shit as it gets is way better than this piece of shit once you figure out whats going on.
