Saw this today How To Play Any Version Of Phantasy Star Online For Free | GEMAGA.COM

Not a bad game that I never ended up getting due to the monthly fee.

I played BB during the beta when it came up around a year ago. It was fun, I just couldn't justify a monthly fee for playing Diablo basically. Content updates weren't frequent like a normal MMO, and there really is only a fixed amount of content. Not terribly surprising that BB didn't last. I'm fairly sure if they were taken down in January, not sure BB was up for a full year?

In any event, I enjoyed it during the beta in a mindless kind of way. I think you have to be a real die hard PS fan/PSO fan to play it for more than a few weeks, but at least free is pretty good.

Oh sweet yes, now I gotta find my DC and hook it up. I was addicted to the original PSO hardcore, v2 came out and I hated having to spend money on it (5 bucks for 3 months or something, but jesus it's like Diablo 1 in terms of complexity give me a break), same deal for E1&2 on Xbox Live. This shit is an amazingly fun game but it's extremely basic, a subscription model for that kind of thing just won't fly with most.
