Fallout 1&2 Tech help.

I didn't know where to ask, I scoured around on the net and found no help.
Long story short, I wanted to boot up and play through Fallout 1 & 2 again before 3 comes out.
I found my old 'dual jewel' case that has them both, and installed it.
However it wouldn't autoinstall, i had to do that manually. And now when I click on any of the executables, nothing happens. Like literally nothing happens. No prompts, no errors, not even an hourglass.
Is this because I'm running XP? On the back it says compatible with Win 95/98/NT.
Are there any files I can modify that may help get it going?
