| Name the Best Xbox Live co-op game One of my best friends who moved across the country is finally heeding my advice and purchasing an xbox. We've always kept in touch through online games (like WoW), but due to time constrains have had to quit the MMOs. My question is, what is the best co-op game over xbox live out right now that we could enjoy as a duo? |

+2 Internets | I heard good things about Army of Two as well, but have yet to rent it. That free side-scrolling space shooter type game from the Live Arcade is 1-4 players and is so full of win it's staggering. Joining together 4 ships into one huge ship for super guns is awesome; just be fucking sure the guy driving isn't some random hooting dickhole from Live. Did I mention it's free? Smash TV and TMNT Arcade are also awesome from the arcade. Soon Ikaruga will trump them all though. |

+1 Internets | Gears of War instantly comes to mind. Army of Two is also a crapload of fun co-op. It's basically gears of war except less enemy-diversity (is that possible? Apparantly it is) and a few special moves you can pull off. My favorite part is they devoted an entire button to giving "props" to your teammate. A lot of them are pretty funny... though I was pretty drunk so that might of influenced it. Rainbow Six Vegas (1/2), Halo 3, and GRAW are all decent -> good FPS co-op games. Marvel Ultimate Alliance can also be fun multiplayer. Can be kind of a pain to level up and shit or if you're one of those guys who has to read every fucking piece of dialog, but just blowing shit up as superheroes is a good time. Dynasty Warriors/Warriors Orochi- if you like that style game. I've only ever played it split-screen though, unsure if it has online co-op or whatever. Of course there's Guitar Hero/Rock Band. There's also a metric-shitton of nifty multiplayer games out on XBLA. Aegis Wing (free) was mentioned, but TMNT, Contra, Puzzle Fighter (not co-op but simply awesome), Heavy Weapon, Alien Homonid, Assault Heroes, Worms (again, not co-op but good times).

It can be pretty challenging at parts, but really enjoyable. For multiplayer play versing other people, for its ease I would either say CoD4 or Halo3, the automated searching is a lot simpler and a lot quicker than you can get most games of gears of war started in. Plus it's actually trying to balance the teams based on rank, instead of joining a full team in gears that will destroy your random group of 4 (also fucking hate all the QUITTERS in gears, jeeeeze). tl;dr Gears for Co-Op Campaign, CoD4/Halo3 for MP versing. |

| Gears of War is the best for the campaign but I think Halo might edge it out for the multiplayer (since GoW makes it a pain in the ass to match up with your friends for ranked matches). A good cheap one to last you a couple weeks would be N+. You may want to wait and check out GTA4 too, since that's coming out in a few weeks. It's supposed to have a bunch of multiplayer modes, but I haven't read up on them enough to know how good the coop is supposed to be. |

+5 Internets | Heavy weapon is a ton of fun to play online, or just with 4 people. The amount of shit flying around on the screen is rediculous, but great mindless fun. I should check out Aegis wing, as I'm a huge fan of 2d shooters. |
