Game is made of pure win. Seriously, why can't the US ever get these obscure games

. I decided to buy it at Anime Boston over the weekend and I've been loving it ever since.

It's more or less a Tactical RPG which makes use of characters from Namco and Capcom games (It's not a versus game, its a crossover game). I mean shit, it's hilarious as hell watching Ryu&Ken fight alongside Kos-Mos&Shion.

The battle system is quite different from other Tactical RPG's.

Attacking Units can either make a melee or ranged attack. They are then prompted with a menu from which they can choose from a few more options such as item or skill usage. Afterwards the combat portion of the units turn starts. Depending on if you attack Ranged or Attack you are given a 1-5 attacks using the direction key and o. You then get to combo the enemy. Depending on how well your combos are you are awarded bonuses such as items and extra attacks. If you SP gauge is maxed you can execute the units special attack.

On the otherhand when you are defending you get a menu also from which you can choose to expend part of your SP gauge to counter or halve the damage taken.

Ohh, Units can be one or two characters. Although, it's purely cosmetic and serves no purpose other then to make the battles more hilarious as the characters switch mid combo.

Characters such as Kos-mos, Ken, Ryu and Mitsurugi don't have a partner.

There's no way; its like, what, 3 years old now? I took for granted that we would get it at the time, because, I mean, everyone loves crazy cross over games, but nothing ever materialized for this one.

Gametrailers.com - Namco x Capcom Transgen Gameplay 2 by manasteel88 well never say never apparently transgen is working on a english version. http://transgen.awardspace.com/ website apparently goes up and down a lot...I will keep an eye on it. I just wonder how it will be able to be played, modded PS2?

Yeah, that is a bit of a shocker; this just seems so... old, I mean Jin's still rocking his Tekken 4 outfit. Color me surprised.

The original game works with HDLoader, so presumably you could throw the patched/translated image on your HDD and play off there.

Wish like every good console mod site that carried PS2 shit wasn't shut down in the US.

I've been trying to get HD Loader for a while. I mean, I have both a NA and a JP PS2 but It would be nice to do the above.

Well, if you're willing to actually purchase HD Loader it's not that hard to track down.

HDLOADER - Less Waiting, More Gaming - USBExtreme - HDLoader 3.8C

Purchased mine from there about a year and a half ago. At the time it was reputable, still appears to be.

There are ways to get it running yourself from stuff you can download on the net, but I am not familiar with exactly how.

Unless I'm misreading your post, I just double checked and they definitely ship to the United States.

Yeah, I checked again. I was just looking at hdloader.net a few minutes beforehand which links with a site that does not.

So, what exactly do I need?

From what I can tell:
Fat PS2 (I'm going to use my JP PS2, it's one of the Compatible models)
HD Loader DVD
PS2 Network Adaptor
Compatible HD
