MLB 2K8

Anyone getting this for the 360? I just picked it up (had to drive about 40 minutes to another Best Buy because it was the only one who had it in stock. I wanted to use my 70 dollar gift card dammit) and I played a few quick innings and it's a ton of fun. I'm a fan of classic controls so that's what I will always use but I love how the models look and how deep franchise mode is.

I'm getting the Wii version mid week from Gamefly. I loved Power Pros so I'm psyched to see how a real baseball game will play on the system.

That's ok, The Show is a better game.

It seems like it has some framerate issues but other than that I really don't mind it. It's a solid fun game.

yep, i been trying to play while mmo'ing, but i hear there is some shit you have to turn off for the framerate issues. Solid game, pitcing is a bitch, but i am loving it. Gotta play with some settings i guess. I love throwing the ball too, the little throw meter is nice.

Found the problem with the framerate deal. Its when the game cache's to the hard drive. Pull out the hard drive and you get no more framerate issues. They fucked up big time on that coding. Hopefully they patch that shit asap.

Aside from beyond terrible runner control (hi2u 3 different ways to move a runner), it's good. The huge problem is that I keep costing myself double plays because I inadvertantly hit a button, and pretty much any button will advance a runner. It's fucking terrible. Why do ALL FOUR FUCKING CENTER BUTTONS NEED TO CONTROL RUNNERS! WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THIS WAS SMART!?

Well, 2k is working on the fix for the vip framerate issue. So i guess thats good.

I am looking for a good baseball game. To those who have this, it is a good sim? Does it track tons of stats (the best part about sports/baseball)?

I refuse to play until they put out the patch. So far i wasted 60 bucks on a laggy ass game.

Don't you have a PS3, kcxiv? You should give The Show 08 a try. I picked it up two weeks ago for something to do during WoW raids, and the Road to the Show mode has been very addicting. Online games lag probably as much as 2K8, but FWIW, The Show's got a steady framerate, and scores one solid grade above 2K8 on metacritics.

For those not familiar with Road to the Show mode, it's basically a career mode with RPG-esque stats building. You play with your MLB team in spring training, and starts your career in the AA league, and you work your way up from there.
