Turning Point : Fall of Liberty

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

I must say that codemasters isn't my favorite game company, but alternative history + nazi's are big pluses, so this looks like it might be interesting.

Alternative history is interesting for sure but I cringe at the mention of WWII in any form nowadays. Fucking EA.

Demo was less than average... controls felt awkward. But the alternate history stuff is kind of neat - I got a little bit of a Bioshock feel from some of the indoor environments.

Almost downloaded it, but the prelim reviews looked pretty horrid. Someone let us know if its worth a damn.

Yeah, I think I'll keep waiting for the real Freedom Fighters 2 instead of a cheap imitation by Codemasters.

PC version has a severe case of Consolitis, beginning with absolutely no mouse control in the menus... very little configurable options, IE: You can change resolution and one single graphics setting which is named "Performance". which can be set to low, medium or high. Most PC gamers would assume that high performance would result in lower quality, higher frames... but nope, it's the opposite.

Concept is cool, but I'll be honest, the game was ruined for me very early in the second mission, where you're to defend a barricade. Once you've killed all the incoming enemies, you have to go back to an area behind you. If you try to go forward part the barricade you suddenly get attacked by a sniper with 100% accuracy every 3 seconds, making it impossible to explore the area... this sort of artificial world barrier ruined it for me and I promptly turned the game off and uninstalled.

And don't even get me started on the Nazi troop animations... They look like they're jogging with a very large item stuck up their arses.

Agreed. I remember when the OG big daddy WW2 shooters came out, Call of Duty & Metal of Honor, and just being blown away. They were the first FPS's since Half-Life that really drew me into the story.

I had had enough of the "Check out the latest and greatest FPS, Super Cool Zombie Killers from Mars! Take on the role of Rock Hardabs, a bad ass Navy Seal Team Sniper turned astronaut as he takes on the zombies from Mars using a wide range of weapons, from vibrating pocket chainsaws with laser scopes to a gun that shoots demons teleported from Hell itself!"
