| One game for the 360... Alright, I have a 360 and a Best Buy gift card. The only game I have for the 360 is Assassin's Creed. Good game, but I beat it. My friends and I play Fifa07 almost religiously on the thing (xbox version). So anyways, I don't really need to get fifa08 (though I hear it is good). What game should I get? I was looking at Mass Effect, but I am also a big fan of FPSes so Bioshock was looking good...But then, Gears of War is multiplayer (I've played it a few times at a friends, its fun). So, what should I get? Edit: Oh, and I do not have, and won't be getting, Xbox Live. Last edited by Bralkan : 02-25-2008 at 09:11 AM. |

| Bioshock is great. Around 15 hours playthough, mild replayability. Mass effect is great as well. Since the difficulty scales with your character level, if you are the kind of guy who rushes to the ending screen it'll just last 8-10 hours. Otherwise count 15-25 and has greater replayability than Bioshock. It's a tough call anyway. Alternatively, I'd use that gift card to get two el cheapo games: something like Oblivion and Dead Rising. That's a lot of quality gameplay there. |

I do have to say though, half of my enjoyment of the 360 is the online play/arcade titles. Its nice to pay $5-$10 for a game and get as much enjoyment out of it (and playing against friends) as a $60 AAA title. | |

+29 Internets | HUGE mistake. Online gaming is what the console is designed around, you're going to miss out on co-op in a lot of games. Halo 3 and Gears of War, for example, are 10,000x more fun in co-op than in single player. It really is money well spent - it's the cost of about one game per year. Considering you get more than 15hrs per year out of online play, you'll get more entertainment from the subscription than an additional game. Only game I'd recommend for offline playing is Mass Effect, cause it has no online mode. |

| I just don't have the time for Xbox live at the moment. I wish my situation was such I could make use of it. Part of the problem is my 360 / big screen is not at my house, so if I am going to play it is at my friend's. I will probably look at getting live near the end of march / april, depending on what I am doing. But for the next month, no online access. So for now, I am looking at local only games. |
