It's good if you're a fan of the board game, can't speak for those that aren't familiar with the franchise. There really isn't much to say in terms of game play since it's literally the board game rules translated onto the PC. Graphics are probably on par with what you would expect.

As for the additional teams, I believe those are planned to be finished when the boxed version gets pushed out this fall. Some guys on the forums fiddled with the game files and the Dark Elf team is already programmed in although they don't have any models

The online interface is pretty slow and clunky. There were quite a few bugs upon release, but seems like they're on top of things and getting those knocked out with small, frequent patches. I haven't run into any huge issues myself, but they have a pretty decent size list in this thread.

My only real complaint is the public league is a joke if you're looking for competitive play. You can play anyone, anytime, so going 40-0 isn't really a feat for someone who wants to have a friend feed their team or just bashes low rating players all day. Not having an automated match making system of any sort seems pretty silly in my opinion.

I actually never played the game before, but friends of mine from a long time back used to play it some and always said it was fun. So, after a compulsive purchase and digital download, I ended up playing this for hours Saturday and Sunday. Its addictive as hell. I love my stunties. (still getting the nuances of the game down and having a little problem defending against the long ball, but it really is fun)

i am pretty horrible at this game it seems. ive been playing warhammer fantasy for years but never played bloodbowl. running skaven seem pretty difficult they get knocked down by everything and if the opposing team forms a box around the ball its pretty much impossible to get it back with their low str.

maybe i just need more practice, either way its a fun game

I think Skavian is a passing race like humans, play defensively until you can get two blockers up a side line then pass as far as possible and near your defenders. Also your team build plays a big part you want at least 3 rerolls and over half of those stars(forget name)

Na not a passing race, a running race. They have the best runners in the game, you have to abuse it. If your opponent plays a bash team with boxes and stuff, you can't do much when he has the ball, however you should be able to score everytime he scores, you have to rely on some luck to get the ball on one of his turns, or prevent him from scoring by sacrificing your players. Later on your can buy various skills for each players, at which point you can actually break boxes with Leap and Strip Ball and stuff like that. You could also theorically play a passing game once you spec one of the runners into a receiver, but to be honest most of the time it's safer to run for it when you can cover the whole field in basically 2 turns. If you get the 1movement event at the kick off, you can score on that turn with Sprint if you have your runners on the line for example.

I haven't been playing this cause I was playing Aion, but it's a pretty fun game for sure, and making your team evolve is very interesting especially since there's always the risk of your star player getting killed by some chainsaw using goblin ^^.

Yeah, Skaven can be rough. My advice would be to position well and only block when it's advantageous. It seems most 'bash' teams will prioritize hitting your players before worrying about the ball, so you can usually sneak a gutter runner or two back there and snag it before they cage up if they make a mistake. Don't be afraid to dodge, pick up balls in enemy tackle zones or make go for it rolls when appropriate if it will get you into good position or move your ball carrier out of blitz range.

I've only played a couple games with Skaven personally, but they're pretty strong scoring wise. My overall point ratio is 12-3 after five games, although I usually only have six to eight players on the field by the end of each match.

I missed the release and when I finally downloaded it to test it... Aion was released. Anyway, I cannot decide if I like the game or not. I did some games when I had some free time, but still busy leveling in Aion.

Overall its fun, but the "bad luck" of rolls is so frustrating that I cannot really enjoy playing most of the time. Turn starts, make the KO guys stand up.. attack something with 2 dice... get 2 red skulls, wait for your turn. Try to pick up the ball, roll 1 and wait for your turn. Make KO guys stand up again, attack something with 2 dice, enjoy those 2 red skulls again...

At some point I was about to destroy my keyboard because I wasted 2 rerolls and 3 turns trying to pick up the ball. It became alot more enjoyable once the league advanced abit and I could give the players some skills that lessen the evil that is dice rolls, but its still annoying as fuck.

Right now I am not sure if I should buy it or not... basicly I enjoy the theme, the gameplay itself.. was the dice roll luck tend to destroy any fun.

Disapointing

Disapointing.

My friends and I were huge chaos league fans and ran long online leagues with 8+ teams every year. In BB real time mode really is the red headed stepchild. Very poor to the point of almost unplayaable.

There isnt even multiple select of players ffs!

Yes, I KNOW its a boardgame yada yada yada, true way to play the game blah blah blah, huge player base yoink yoink yoink.

They did sell real time mode as part of the game, and they really failed hard. So much potential too!

Even a public league for real time mode would be a start.

Blood Bowl got alot better after some leagues (single player). Once most of your players are level 3+ the random factor isnt that annoying anymore. Im playing chaos and its fun. I managed to get the whole opponents team of the playing field twice; once by turn 5 and again by turn 14.

As all your players as mediocre at handling the ball its really annoying early on, as all your chances to fail are pretty high. By now my runner / ball catcher is level 6. When I started he basicly failed to pick up the ball 3 times a row in every game. Now its a 2+ pick with reroll, he basicly never failed again after he hit level 3.

Chaos is really fun. I tend to destroy teams, while my runner is constantly scoring touchdowns and I can even make some nice pass moves. Twice I managed to get all of the opponents players off the field. Kinda fun causing 6 deaths within the first 4 turns.
