Played it for a few matches, each match can easily last over an hour. I imagine it has something to do with being new but yeah people move slow. If you have never played blood bowl I suggest your find the manual for 5th addition table top version it uses those rules and it is important to what does what.

Only orcs and Humans are playable but they are fully upgradeable, upgraded teams will easily own fresh teams. Think level 80 vs a level 40 just no contest. Lots of fun once you get the hang out it. League is up look for Fires of Heaven in the league list.

I am super excited about this game.

We still play 'chaos league' totally hardcore. We have a pool of around 12 players (RL friends) and run an online league every year. Basic idea is 3 divisions with an NFL type structure leading to div champions, wild cards and then finals.

The really neat thing about chaos league is that the real time games take about 20 mins to play. So we can run a full set of games every two weeks or so and it only takes about 30 mins commitment from each player.

Oh, for the finals we get all the players in one spot and chain the gameplay onto a projector and huge screen for added audience pressure

I REALLY hope this game is as good as chaos league, and I'd strongly reccommend checking out 'Chaos league - sudden death' in the mean time!

Blood Bowl has a real time mode as well, haven' tried it yet so no idea how it would work.

Beta tips, go Human as they can dodge better and have a passing game. Orcs rely on a running game and have very poor ball control to start. Also you want a team with 11 players and 2-3 rerolls with a decent amount of fans.

what's the deal with these short betas?

Was only two races able to play and everything is pretty fine tuned already. I didn't crash once, was pretty balanced and never saw a bug etc.

I was expecting a lot more FoH to be interested in this game. If you are not and you like strat games you should look into it.

I'm interested, I just missed seeing the post with the beta registration announcement. From the looks of things, I'll be buying a couple copies. One for my PC and another for my DS. That way I'll get all the game modes and be able to get the Undead and Dark Elf teams when they're released as well as have a portable version to take with me.
