| Getting a PSP I've decided that I am going to be buying a PSP for the upcoming FFVII: Crisis Core release. However, since that is still a few months away, I need something before then. Please advise on "important" things for the PSP. Any links to information regarding emulation would be cool, as well as advice on the merits of original/slim/new/used PSP models. Any good game recommendations outside of tactics-style (too slow for me) gameplay will also be appreciated. Thank you, gentlemen.

The only benefits really to an old PSP are easier hacking I think? if you can get a really old model. Otherwise you need a pandora's battery. I am not sure how people go about hacking PSP Slim's as I haven't wanted to you.

+23 Internets | I have a slim, but I had to use my brother's fat PSP to make a Pandora's Battery for the Slim and put custom firmware on it. I don't know if they have come up with a method that doesn't require a fat PSP in some way yet(you can always just buy a Pandora's battery off Ebay or something). MAXCONSOLE - Playstation 2 Playstation 3 Xbox 360 Nintendo DS PSP Gamecube Nintendo WII Revolution - To the MAX! is where I got all the info on downgrading/custom firmware, etc |

| As far as games go, there are quite a few great SRPG's to go with if you're into that. Jeanne D'Arc, Disgaea, some Final Fantasy Tactics game (I hear it's good!), and I think Valkerie Profile:Lenneth falls into this category too, but I haven't played it yet. The remade Final Fantasy 1 and 2 are out for it too. Daxter is good, and if you can still find the Daxter bundle, I'd go with that for sure. You get a silver PSP Slim, a 1gb memory card, and a Family Guy UMD pack. It's the best PSP deal going, and Amazon still has some for sale: Amazon.com: PSP Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice Silver: Video Games |

| Didn't want to start a new thread. I want to play original Playstation games on the PSP. How easy is it to 'hack' the new PSP's? Does this have any effect on being able to play regular games? Thanks in advance. |

New PSP is better in every way if you have access to a Pandora's battery. I *guess* the battery life of the old PSP may be better due to the larger battery is comes with?... I think? not sure if thats true...

+1 Internets | Does anyone know the trade in value for a PSP?...mine is about 2 months old. Well doing more research I purchased the unit on 11/19/07...that should follow Best Buys return (holiday guide lines) Holiday Return/Exchange Policy Buy now with confidence! Gifts may be exchanged and returned through January. Gift purchases made between November 1, 2007 and December 24, 2007, qualify for our Holiday Return policy. Qualifying products may be returned through January 31, 2008. The other terms of our standard policy (including, but not limited to, "non-returnable items" and "restocking fee," etc.) apply. Products purchased prior to November 1 or after December 24 and non-gift purchases do not qualify for our holiday return policy. For these purchases, our standard return policy applies, which is explained in the paragraphs that follow. Am I in the clear to exchange and pay the difference for a slim? | As long as you have your receipt, original packaging, and everything that was included, you should be good to go on a return. If the salesperson gives you crap, just ask to speak with the store manager. I bought myself a PSP Slim and Light for Christmas, and I'm absolutely in love with it.

They might have the transaction on record and be able to pull it up with your ID. Not sure how that works.

| I'm pretty sure you'll be ok Pagan. Even without the receipt. It's very easy to return things and get store credit. They really don't care unless you try to get cash. They package up broken shit all the time and put it back on the shelves on the off chance the idiot who buys doesn't return it, so returning a working product will be no problem. |
