You are right I'm fagging it up by answering questions that are being asked multiple times. Sorry for trying to help. Thanks for being an expert on fags though. Your input is greatly appreciated.

anyone know a cheap play in the US to get a pandora battery? I just fucked my battery by trying to make a pandora off blurry youtube vids (was a spare battery). I had an old fat one and my mobo looked different than the one posted on page 26, so relying on blurry videos and shady narration was the end of me. the TOOL one I found on pandorabattery.net is no longer available

1.) Using a sharp knife, work around the outside edges of the battery to remove the glue holding the outside case on. This is the hardest part of the project. it takes about 10 mins of passes with the knife to loosen it up enough to remove the 2 sides of the case.

2.) Take a razor blade or xacto knife and run it over the trace going to the 5th pin on the batterys micro controller. See that little blue box? Yeah, use the razor on that part. Run it over the trace in the same location about 4-5 times, using moderate pressure.

3.) Provided you already created the magic memory stick and its inside the psp already, all you have to do is insert the newly created pandora battery into the psp. It will turn on as soon as you put it in, the memory stick activity light will flash alot. When its done, press x. It will flash some more for a while and when its done it will turn off.

4.) Remove the battery open it back up, (the case detaches easily since it was open already) take a mechanical pencil and fill in the area you cut with the razor as if you were taking a scantron test.

5.) Grats you have brought your battery back to its factory condition.

I know for a fact this works, its how i modded my psp, then when my roommate got his i opened my battery, erased the mechanical pencil, and it was a pandora again. Then filled it back in and i was back to normal.
Ok got a TOOL battery and basically loaded it in with my magic memory stick already in it, it turned itself on, I ran through the steps and now I've tried to play a game with my old battery and no such luck yet. Tried just putting the ISO on the PSP then tried in an ISO folder on the PSP, no such luck. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

You have to convert the ISO files to PBP files. There's a pretty sweet program that lets you pick the icon, background, background music, and converts the ISOs all by itself - it even gives a preview of how it'll look on your PSP menu. Google PSX2PSP. 1.4.2 is the newest version. You'll also need to download the ATRAC3 codec to make .AT3 sound files if you want music on your menu thing. Music files must be less than 1 minute long, AT3 66 format and less than 500KB. There is another program you can use to make the song loop infinitely. The looping program is called GWAT3.

This is what I get when I do that. I saved the program to my desktop and edited my name obviously (not that most ppl here don't know it by now).

Getting it from here PSX2PSP v1.4 - Popstation GUI - MaxConsole Forums

that right? That files folder that came with it has no base.pbp file in it

edit: got it to work, didn't have to change anything. just formatted my memory stick, put it in ISO folder, and now is working

Necro post!
Just a word of warning, if you're thinking of getting a PSP slim, make sure you don't get one with the official 4.01 firmware on it. As of now most of the 4.01 ones can't be hacked. I know, I just bought one and only realized it after opening the box and trying myself. After some googling, I found out that the newest batch of 2000s have a new motherboard that won't run the magic memory stick.
At least I have a hacked phat for the time being...

Did you brick your PSP? Or did you get this new info before anything happened to it?

Pretty lame.

Nope it's fine, holding down L and inserting the pandora just leads to a black screen.
All accounts I can find online point to it being hacked eventually...

Edit: This is the 2000 I'm talking about... turns out some newer 2000 models use the same motherboard as the new 3000's.

Hmm.. that's the first time I've heard of this. Literally every source I've checked out claims the v3 motherboards can't be hacked yet.

And the only customer write up says this:
Quote:
this battery is a big lie
this battery is a big lie ... datel told that it will be able to start psp 2000/3000 in service mode with it but this has been changed when it get released in market

this battery CAN"T start PSP 2004 with OFW 4.01 or later or PSP3000 in service mode

this makes it nothing different that the old ordinary Pandora battery or the PSP service tool

That sucks =/ though yeah I haven't personally used it, I just read about it.

If that's the case then we've had several PSP motherboards that have been un-hackable for a year? or more, so the prospects seem rather dim.
