Actually, more like holiday season + 40 gig PS3 = more sales. Having them in stock helps too. It's not a bad thing, in fact I am interested in buying a PS3 in the near future (maybe within the next year), but PS2 still have more sales than PS3

Yes it was one of the 4 "Killer Apps" next to Lair, Heavenly Sword and Ratchet&Clank.
After the 3 flopped scores and/or retail wise it became the "Killer App" for this year.
Now its back to: wait for 2008 - "This is Waiting!".

It was my brother's birthday in early December, and I decided to buy him a DS. It took me going to half a dozen different shops to find one that had any in stock. While I was at the counter being served, two more people walked up, one after the other, and asked a free salesdrone the same question: "Excuse me, but do you have any Nintendo DS Lites in stock?". This wasn't just generic_videogame_shops which had sold out, mind you - this was including the glorified warehouse out-of-town white goods stores, Asda (Walmart), Tescos, etc. as well. No stock in their store's warehouse, no stock in their local warehouse, limited stock countrywide. Come back in a week and we might have gotten some more in. Maybe.

Random thing I noticed while searching for a DS: Game has less shelf space for the PS3 than for the PC. That can't be a good sign for Sony.

It's difficult to win an opinion-based debate when your only evidence supporting the PS2 is a multiplatform game.

Also - Good to see some higher PS3 numbers. Hopefully with better numbers we'll see some better support from Sony/developers. Would be nice for another system to give Microsoft some competition.
