| fohguild.org / uberguilds game ratings fohguild.org / uberguilds game score subsite/functions. Make it so! How it works is no mystery: 0.0 to 10.0 in increments of .1 Platform - Game title - Avg. Score - yourscore interface. This could then be extended to the uberguilds network, no? Clicking XBox360 would basically show a sorted list of all xbox360 games and their scores. Obv. need some sort of editor function to manage which games are scorable... I'd trust this more than anything else. |

| That would actually be a neat idea. A section of uberguilds for people to post their own reviews of games. Although, it really doesn't fit the theme of the entire network which is based around MMOs~

| Well, it could just be an index - so not so much people blah blahing about games but bottomline scoring them. Of course it could expand to people writing out their take on things, but even though this bucket of reviews would be better than any other, I just want to see the raw data. I think someone "with the attention span for MMORPGs" is an interesting subsection of the reviewer strata so I don't mind that vector... Last edited by Horse : 12-06-2007 at 01:33 PM. |

+3 Internets | A small amount of space (xxx char limit) for a capsule review might be highly desirable. If someone gives something 2/10, it would be more useful if they have a few sentences to say why it sucked, same for giving something a high score. Would (Might?) discourage the random chumps at least a little. |

| I like this idea. But it should be more structured than just a bunch of people's threads on games they want to review. There should be a base post for x game with some general info on it/release date/platform/genre/etc. Then people could post their reviews of it under that. Sort it all by platform I guess. |

| Mabye make it so that if you submit a raiting you have to also something something in writing for a review.. mabye one or two lines or something.. After all if you care enough about the game to review it mabye you should say why or why not you liked it or why or why not you didn't... This could go further and be digg style so reviews that are dugg more carry more weight? |

| Yeah I'd be totally down to write full blown reviews for all the stuff I've played/play. Sounds like a good idea, if the haters can stay quiet though. Its one thing to dislike WoW in a well written manner, and quite another to poo on everyone's party but saying something retarded and giving a low score.

| Well all that's fine, but in the end I'd want to see XBox 360 + Gears of War 9.2 9.8 + The Simpsons 8.6 |-------|--| your rating slider or input area + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# + XXXXXXXX #.# #.# etc. Perhaps clicking the + could expand to show user reviews / scores. The thing is, I don't care what anyone says about games, really. And karma systems don't really work on review sites (like Welcome to Everything@Everything2.com) because it is opinion based. I just think seeing a big ass list of all the games that people have bothered submitting with a simple score would be great. One thing to remember is that the scoring system is all relative to each other. So I opt to say do not let people spew their opinions about a game when you might not want to hear them anyway. Reading a 2/10 is enough rather than reading someone vomit on their keyboard. I personally only use verbose review sites as shopping lists for torrents / rentals... |

| Exact opposite here. Having some random person toss out some random number without some sort of litmus test to see if he's a raving fanboy or an internet warrior, is pretty worthless. *shrug*

| The litmus test is embedded into the process that grants a participant the ability to rate in the first place. If it is the fohguild.org website's ratings system, it isn't a random person. By taking that cross-section of users you'll end up with internet warriors and fanboys based on that percentage of people who participate in the site and that's the point. In the end, you'll know what score every account on fohguild.org deems a game should have. If 90% of fohguild.org are, say, rabid Kane & Lynch fans, the score will be biased that way. This sort of site would work great if there were an invite-chain policy as well, like those illicit torrent sites. You only invite people who's opinions you give a crap about, or feel are genuine, and so on. You could also counterweight reviewer's scores. There's no reason why it can't do a sort of last.fm cross-sectioning where it finds all of the similar ratings that you and another person have given and does a taste-matrix or "trustworthy" index. If someone's scale wildly differs from you the weight of their opinion should be diminished. I give Kane and Lynch a 10, that should reduce my opinion's credibility to a lot of people. Lotsa math can (and should) be done to make someone giving a "2" more meaningful based on your rating. But as a first step I'd just like to see the overall scores from the community rather than browse the "knees are too pointy and brown" sometimes. |

+17 Internets | Luckily for you guys I have absolutely no delusions of grandeur about participating in this, because I have absolutely terrible creative writing skills and I'm pretty inept at getting my thoughts across in a coherent manner. |
