| Bought a PSP for the hell of it. (Final Fantasy I) So far I love this little black box. I also grabbed FFII, and Castlevania X. I noticed FFI is out for the system, has anyone played it? Do they like it? I went through the 1st one on nes back when it first came out, and had a great time. Be nice to go back with the upgraded graphics.... Or am I missing out on any other games for the PSP? |

| Jeanne D'Arc, Puzzle Quest, FFT: War of the Lions, If you like harvest moon, I reallly, REALLY recommend you pickup the latest one. I love it. Popopolo Crisis is quite and it'll drill a hole straight to your heart. I thought the game was off when I started playing it, but by the time I was 2 hours in, I was hooked and chained towards the light, but slightly emotional journey of awesome. New Brave Story is good. They are re-releasing Star Ocean 1 and 2 for the PSP soon. You can pickup Valkryie Profile: Lenneth for the PSP as well.

+12 Internets | How resourceful. I actually decided to pick up FF Tactics for my PSP.. figured it needs some love and ive been trying to find out about some good games myself. I've been looking into Popolocris? whatever the 2nd poster mentioned haha, but still looking into suggestions since i havent actually seen that game around at any EBs Edit: FFTactics angers me needlesss to say, spend 20 minutes in a battle to only be greeted by 2 arrows to your only chemist which kills him (first archer/mage battle) ughhhhh *shake fist* Last edited by Needless : 11-26-2007 at 01:15 PM. |

There isn't one nor have I read of any plans for a US release. Suikoden is not a super popular series in the US. I also belive Sony requires remakes to have X amount of new content. This is why Tales of Eternia was not released in the US on the PSP but an english language version one was released in PAL regions.

| I do. It is a good game and worth picking up. You may not remember but FF1 is VERY simple compared to the ones that followed. I played it again on the PSP and enjoyed it for old times sake but if I have the choice of which FF to play it wont be 1. Id pick it up though if for no other reason then to support FF games on the psp ![]() |

For instance, one of the most common bad habits / rookie mistakes is to "rush" the enemy -- sending your guys running over to fight the monsters or NPC opponents at the start of the battle. This tactic almost always leads to failure. Instead, bunch up and give the enemies a chance to come to you. Even if this means waiting a few turns for them to land within range, it's worth doing. Don't feel as though you absolutely have to be moving or taking an action with each of your characters on each turn. Another good rule of thumb is never to fight the enemy in one-on-one battles if you can help it. Never send a lone man or woman out into a pack of enemies, because he or she will quickly get swarmed and killed. Always try to fight 2-on-1, or 3-on-1, etc., until you reach the point where your guys are tough enough to stand toe to toe with one or more enemies at a time. Take advantage of skills. If archers are causing you headaches, learn the "Archer's Bane" reactive skill and equip it on your most vulnerable character(s), such as your chemist or white mage. Another very good skill to acquire early on is Parry, which hits an enemy back after being hit. As soon as you can get "First Strike" (formerly "Hamedo") from the monk class, that's even better. Another common mistake is trying to master every class before moving on to the next one. Don't fall into this trap. Cherrypick skills from various classes to make better balanced characters. Go back and master classes later. (The exception to this rule is sticking with a certain class long enough to meet the requirements to unlock another class, and/or sticking with certain classes long enough to get the best and most expensive skill on their tree: Blade Grasp / Shirihadori for Samurai, etc.) The bottom line is: take the time to learn about the game and its mechanics before giving up on it. Once you overcome the learning curve, you'll love the game. | |
