I need to find an FPS style game for the PS3 that has a cheat code to make me invincible so I can take the time to learn without the frustration of constant re-loads.
I believe Unreal Tournament 3 or whatever is on the PS3. As basic/easy as you're going to get on that console. Personally, I'd go for the trial by fire. Rainbow 6 Vegas 2. If you can take out a hardcore difficulty terrorist hunt, you'll never have problems aiming ever again...

Here I am to shill these again:

FPS Freek

They fit on both PS3 and X360 controllers. Buy them - they will help your aiming immensely.

Wow. Never seen that before. Are you using them now I'm assuming? And what's the SpeedFreek for? Mostly racing games or other applications?

Man, I've posted these on this forum a good five times I think. =( Buy them, buy them now.

I have not taken them off my controllers since buying them. I can't imagine playing without them.

I haven't messed with the SpeedFreek stuff - but they've reviewed pretty well for racing games. They're no wheel, obviously, but they're an improvement.

Just started playing this. It could not remind me more of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. The special moves and upgrades you buy, the little side missions, the hints/location collectibles. I think some of the powers even have the same name.

That being said, Ultimate Destruction was an awesome game and so is this. It makes me laugh that even the story has some parallel though :P

Edit: Those control freak things are nice. I bought one pair and put one each on our two controllers, on the 'aiming' stick. Didn't feel any need to put one on the movement stick.

I might have to check those FPS Freek things out. However...

I'm also trading in Prototype today. It was a ton of fun, but I don't see much replayability in it, and I'm going to get in while the gettin's good regarding trade-in value.

Anyone get this for the PC? I got it about a week ago, and have had both fun and frustration. The "slowmo" effect really messes with me. I think that has to do with being a FPS player where being slow gets you killed.

I think I'm fairly far into the game having finished playing with Ms. Green. Got tired of trying to get into range to deal with her with my abilities, so I just kept jacking tanks/choppers and blowing her up from range. Did a couple of missions after that.

My big question is "Devastator Attacks". Is there something special that I need to know about how to use them. Aside from having to be in the critical mass of my life bar. I can usually do the aoe spikes from the ground attack, but the chain one I can't do, and all the the ones that I should be able to do from the air I can't either. Are you only able to them in the unweaponed/unarmoured Alex form? Is that correct?

The spikes one was all I ever bothered with, and I also never bothered with melee combo abilities.

Played the PC version, but used a 360 controller the whole time.

The spikes are weak imo. Too small of a radius. Get into the blue, then hold right-click + E. Then watch as every person and vehicle in every direction for 100 feet instantly dies via tentacle rape

I thought my PC was dropping frames until I found out that it was a feature to go into that slow mo crap while changing targets and such. Would be nice if you could turn it off but I just got used to it after a few hours.

Well I guess I suck at this. Everyone else seems to not have an issue with the last boss on normal, and I've been at it for 3 - 4 hours all told, came close about twice. Most times I simply get caught in his aoe chain attack and insta-die. A couple of times I was able to stun him and do massive damage, but that seems to be pretty random. Most of the time I'm simply running for my life.

*shrug*

I can always kick ass in TF2.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I did it without any devastator cheese, you can just jump around and hit him with secondary attack of your whipfist or jack a heli and fire a few shots at him, also, keep yourself at full health all the time. Of course, if you dont have fully upgraded survival skills, you might have problems, but i walked over him on the first try, its not so much hard as it is frustrating and i wouldnt even attemp him without maxed movement.

Another way is using the secondary of blade, but if you fully charge it, you are stunned after you use it and he usually lands a few hits on you. And there is his devastator, although it should never kill you if you have that ability that turns your last 1mm of health into critical mass.

I beat him on my second try by having no weapon, no armor out(maximum speed), holding down sprint the entire time and chucking helicopters/missiles/people at him for 10 minutes. Then, when you're given the 1:30 to finish him off, go big-blade/armor and hit him for 1-2 combos while circling around to his back constantly. Make sure you have max regen + the ability that saves you at 1% health and you should be able to survive his devestators/the odd lucky hit he gets on you. Also, I seemed to notice that if I grabbed a soldier and brought him up to the top of the control tower to consume, he wouldn't immediately follow me, so do that for safe, easy health.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
On a side note, I had the time of my life killing Green, so I'm going to share my tactic. Big blade, no armor. I sprinted up one of the tallest adjacent skyscrapers, floated up out above her and zipped down, missing all 6'ish of the flying green spooge by about an inch and then slammed into her taking out around a third of the health from 2-3 limbs per hit.

I was doing that on Green too, drop, then spike devastator... then run away around the corner eat some people, run up a building, do it again.
