| STREET FIGHTER 4!!!! Holy shit, I thought I would never see this day. This is one of the happiest moments ever. As a fighting game fan I don't know what to say, and I can only harbor doubts as if it will be some blasphemy like a new 3d street fighter or other thing. Please please capcom, dont let us down. | I want everyone to take a step back and clear your mind. Think nothing but of the glory that could be Street Fighter 4.. Now. Run these words through your mind. ..... "Wii Exclusive" Wouldn't that just be a kick in the nuts?

| Pride Never Die | Well I hope they bring the SF series and the genre back to it's roots. Basically aside from VF, DOA, and Tekken series this gen has all dried up. It used to be there would be 20+ different games a year in the fighting gen. You would think with the advent of online playing it would taken off again but it hasn't really imho. Hopefully the new SF game can bring the genre back to life. I hope devs get away from Killer Instinct style combos that plague fighters now.

+3 Internets | Lag in FPS can be adjusted for, but in a fighting game, if a counter can only be executed in the first .1 second of the move, and you have a lag of > .1, it is not possible to counter the move. Combo breakers/parries etc. |

| Street Fighter 3 is too technical of a game to be played online for anyone who isn't a newbie. When you're counting frames of animation, even 18ms of lag is going to mean the difference between a parry and a K.O. [edit: whoops guess I'm the 3rd person to point this out] Sreet Fighter, Tekken, etc. are not games meant to be played online. I think my game would get worse if I practiced over the internet. I honestly hope this doesn't go online, because that's just going to be watering down the craft that goes into being a true expert. If it does go online and goes heavy into it, the next generation of well-known "experts" in America are going to be bull-dogs. The way predictions work in network gaming is not going to reward anyone who plays strategically. Also, SF3 is not by any means a disappointment. It's one of the most-loved fighting games to date and it's very hardcore. Last edited by wild_whiskey : 10-17-2007 at 12:21 PM. |
