Gouki = 1 perfect, all other 'regular' characters unlocked (Fei Long, Cammy, Rose, Sakura, Dan and Gen) no continues and finish the game with a character you already completed the game with.

Gouken = Same as above plus Gouki unlocked and finished the game, 5 first attacks and 3 ultra finishes.

It also depends on how many rounds you're playing.. but if its only one round, that's correct To unlock gouki you need to also have unlocked all the other hidden characters before him (i think?). Like cammy, gen, sakura.. etc. Unless that's been disproven.

OMG, i started to play as Dan tonight with a friend for a couple hours of playing. He is hands down the funnest character to play, so much satisfaction of pulling his ultimate taunt and his ultra combo off on people, specially online.

Dan is great lols and actually a solid character. Dan is now my main!

Okay. We've unlocked everyone EXCEPT for Gouken and Seth. We did one Perfect and one Ultra (FINISHER) and NO continues. We still did not get a choice to fight Gouki.

Something is really weird.



edit: Okay, I meant to say "Except Gouki, Gouken, and Seth" -- trying to unlock Gouki.

Above link is a guide that i used to unlock both Akuma and Gouken. Out of interest, why do you keep calling him Gouki?

Gouki is the japanese name for him, basically Akuma in japanese is Devil.. which would just sound silly as a name.

a lot of their character names are different than ours.. for example; they call M. Bison, dictator because they name the boxer (balrog) M. Bison... and i believe the dictators name is Vega, so its all sorts of fucked up over there.

They changed it to avoid potential copyright infringement. The boxer was originally named M. Bison, which sounds an awful lot like M. Tyson. I think the intention was to have him be the same/similar character from Street Fighter 1, who was a boxer named Mike. Turn on the Japanese spoken language and during the little anime cutscenes you can hear them say their japanese names over english subtitles saying completely different ones. Kinda funny.

If you're not getting Akuma you don't have the 5 first attack.

Uh to unlock the characters all you need to do is

Akuma: Unlock all the secret characters and 2 Perfects and 2 Ultras
Gouken: Beat the game with Akuma. 2 Perfects 3 Ultras.

No continues on both. Trust me this method works I did it 1st try.

- Do not lose at all. Not even one round (easier if you only play 1-round matches)

- Achieve certain number (or more) of "Perfect" rounds. The number of Perfect Win you need to achieve are:

If you play on

- 1 round match: 1 time or more

- 3 round match: 2 times or more

- 5 round match: 3 times or more

- 7 round match: 4 times or more

- Achieve a certain number (or more) of Super Combo -OR- Ultra Combo Finishes. Super and Ultra finishes both count toward this number. The number of super/ultra finishes you need to achieve are:

If you play on

- 1 round match: 3 times or more

- 3 round match: 5 times or more

- 5 round match: 7 times or more

- 7 round match: 9 times or more


- Achieve certain number (or more) of First Attack (this means you must score the first strike in a match--the screen gives you the "First Attack" message, and you can mostly do this without even noticing):

The number of First Attack you need to achieve are:

If you play on

- 1 round match: 5 times or more

- 3 round match: 10 times or more

- 5 round match: 15 times or more

- 7 round match: 20 times or more


- Then Gouken will appear. Kick his butt to unlock him!

I know for a fact that you don't need five first attacks for Akuma/Gouki(just tried it out myself, one perfect, no losses, one round fights, only one first attack for the perfect win and I still got to play Akuma/Gouki).
