The fact one more hit would have killed him makes it even more exciting.

Haha. You post that vid 1 post after I quoted the action sequence. :P Maybe coincidence or that you got reminded. Eitherway, that vid can be watched 200 times and still be damn priceless.

Honestly didn't see your post, since it wasn't there when I got to the bottom and it's the very last one on the first page for me.

@Ronne: Really? How were you playing an online match? I didn't think any SF had ever supported such. Were you using one of the emulators that allows multi-player over the net? Do you know how it was doing frame prediction?

1. I hope it's NOT a 3D Street Fighter (still have nightmares about Street Fighter EX games)
2. I hope they redraw the sprites from scratch, stop recycling
3. I hope they make them high def (720p+, 480 for the Wii version)

Yea with SFIITHD Remix they are going to have to nail those 3 things. Im wondering if they are going to get UDON to do the SFIV sprites if they do indeed choose 2D (and if UDON does an amazing job with HD remix).

Way too much to wonder right now -- they need to release more info pronto.

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike has online play for the Xbox/360 via live, I use it all the time. If your internet connection is half decent it's almost as good as the real thing. The timing is slightly off on some of the parries, but only for the first one if it's more than one hit. Like if someone throws a Denjin at you, if they ever throw one that isn't an air-juggle anyway, the first parry is like 1/2 a second off due to latency, but the hits after that are all normal timing.

Have you ever played 3S on Kaillera? When you play peer to peer, complicated multi hit parries are plenty doable. Hell, I had some random dude parry all five hits of ryu's fireball super last night and he was pinging over 90, with no peer to peer.

Sorry to derail this back to Bushido Blade but that fucking game was awesome. I will always remember the first time I played as someone and tried to use his ranged weapon and he threw a frog. The other player's character freaked out and I cut his fucking face off.

That video of the parrying is so money. I used to be a *rabid* SF2 player back in the day. I won two tournaments playing against about 80 people or so (Chun-Li was unstoppable in Super Street Fighter II Turbo); prize was a Super Nintendo with SF2 and Super Battletoads, lol (<3 1994).

The fact that a new SF is coming out makes my testicles larger; a whole new game to win money from my friends.

This is good news, Street Fighter 4 is being devloped by Capcom Japan.

Capcom BBS - View Single Post - Street Fighter IV - Questions.

Quote:
I'll start with the basic answer that will diffuse the majority of questions here:

We've announced Street Fighter 4 to let everyone know it's in development. We aren't really providing any more information than that at this time, but over the coming months, you'll see bits and pieces come to light. Platforms especially aren't being discussed.

While CUSA owns the rights to Street Fighter, we have contracted Capcom Japan to handle its development (we felt they would, by far, do the best job with the title).

The game is further along in development than probably most of you think, but as we've stated, it's still quite a ways off. Again, the announcement was just to get it on everyone's radar, nothing more.

Beyond that no one at Capcom will speak about characters returning, character count, platforms, features, 2D or 3D or 2.5D, whether the trailer is representative of gameplay/character design/visual targets, arcade or not, online features, downloadable strategy, where it fits in the canon, etc.

All of that will be revealed over time... the next bits will be revealed a bit later this year.

I personally hope there isn't parrying or custom combos in it. I want to see a new game play mechanism.

So can anyone explain what the guys were actually doing during that video? Was Ken just hitting one button like 8 times in a row or what?

If you tap forward at the right time, you parry an attack, taking no damage and recovering quickly.

3rd Strike has the parry system, where if you press forward at the exact moment of impact you parry the hit, taking 0 damage and building your special gauge slightly. A single parry against an incoming projectile is commonplace and anyone can do it, but parrying Chun-Li's special is probably the most epic moment ever to be seen in 3rd strike.

This is the full video of their match, at 1:00 you can see her special at full speed. Parrying the entire thing blows my mind, it's just too fucking fast for me to ever have a prayer.
