| Well, I think a lot of the non-experts who don't take fighting games to such a science would absolutely love a high quality online fighter. It's a pretty barren area right now. We've quickly moved away from playing with your buddies IRL to the playing against the whole world - for better or for worse. |

That being said, my kingdom for a next-gen Killer Instinct. I still play the first one on my SNES emulator; Jago continues to rape faces in the new millenium!

+5 Internets | Let's see: MvC has *some* bit of KI-esque combos, though it's not a rock-paper-scissors affair like KI. Tekken has air juggles but most of it is yomi game. Getting launched can suck but it's definitely not KI-esque. VF, no KI-style combos. DOA (who cares anyway?) No KI-style combos. CvSNK and SF3 both have that V-mode where you can chain together a lot of moves, so another half-y. Guilty Gear basically has short combos in place of single pokes, but not high-hitting combos like KI. Soul Calibur, very few combos, like Tekken and VF it's a yomi game. If I haven't completely mirrored Ronne's post yet, I will now: PLEASE another KI game! Also, SF4 will undoubtedly be better on PS3 (Dual Shock) and Wii (Classic Controller). I played in a SF2 tournament when it came out on XBLA with that canned-meet d-pad and it was fsking miserably frustrating not being able to do dragon punches every time, and jumping was unpredictable because you might go flying off in the wrong direction. To be honest none of the current systems would be good for fighters because they all use pressure-sensitive analog triggers. GOD I fucking hate those. |

+9 Internets | While I'm happy to hear a new Street Fighter is in the works (mostly to see the old characters in next-gen graphics), I really wish they'd remake Battle Arena Toshinden with updated engine.. Oh, only the first game of course, the others were abominations.. but man that first Toshinden game was really badass on ole' faithful Playstation One. |

| I haven't played a video game in almost a year now. If SF4 is any good I will come out of retirement to play this. This is very cool news. SF2 is one of my most favorite games EVER! I have actually been thinking of buying an old coin-op arcade SF2. EDIT: Will this come to the arcade only first or will it go straight to PS3, XBOX, and so on? I used to enjoy it ONLY at the arcade first those were the days. Last edited by Burkex; 10-17-2007 at 03:57 PM.. |
