I downloaded the demo yesterday. Its pretty fun. Are the plasmids balanced in the final game or do you tend to stick with one or three?

Well the "evil" ending to Bioshock leaves it open to an 'out-of-water' sequel for sure.

Hrm, depends on how directly they link the sequel. Could be completely new characters/storyline, ect.

They are all viable, just use your favorite. I found fire to be the weakest tbh though.

Yeah, fire wasn't that great... but the worst has to be those spring board traps you could drop or something. That shit was hilarious but worthless.

Free DLC next week with new plasmids and a mode to turn off vita-chambers, and a widescreen fix: BioShock Patches, Free Plasmid DLC to Hit Next Week (Updated) - Shacknews - PC Games, PlayStation, Xbox 360 and Wii video game news, previews and downloads

This late in the game it's hard to care but still cool they're doing it. I'll probably get around to playing it again in like February though.

And yeah Blank those trap ones were pretty funny, I never mixed them with fire though, which sounds like a pretty good idea now.

Honestly I only played it for a bit but telekenis seemed to be the only plasmid for me barring puzzles that require something else. Could lug bodies and shit around as shields and a close range toss would 1 shot most enemies. Defiantly seemed like bullets would not penetrate a TKd object making it just rediculously easy to pwn face. That may change late game though. Really need to beat Biochock :/

I used telekinesis almost exclusively for most of the game. It was just so much easier to chuck big heavy things at splicers than to have to gun them down.

Looking forward to the DLC, will probably get me around to doing the evil ending and finding all the journals to finish my achievements.

From G4TV/The Feed:

If you haven't played Bioshock, the following sentence won't make sense to you, but Take 2 unveiled the details of four new, downloadable plasmids and tonics today, as well as a new achievement.

The plasmids and tonics:

Sonic Boom: Hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force
EVE saver: Enables Plasmids to use less
EVE Vending Expert: Reduces prices in the vending machines
Machine Buster: Increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets
The achievement:

Xbox 360 players can gain 100 points for "Brass Balls," by beating BioShock on the "hard" difficulty setting without dying
But, maybe more importantly, Take 2 has finally fixed the Bioshock widescreen problem, meaning those of us with widescreen TVs won't be getting a gimped out game.
