+3 Internets | My hate for random encounters was nurtured and ultimately ingrained due to this game; combination of VP and those random encounters was about as annoying and 'not fun' as it could get. Not being forced to listen to Makoto's voice-over during the whole game is one of the few reasons that I kept playing. Had it been otherwise, I would have shut it off long before finishing (think I had about 40-50 hours at the end). |

| I just started this game when I bought my Elite as well and I think it's pretty fun. It's a bit Pokemon-esque with the Magicores (but I like the collection and building up a golem team), and Makota's English voice was so openly gay that it was amusing--I switched over to Japanese with English subtitles though. There were a few slow points in the beginning that I kind of dreaded, but it picks up and the cutscenes are great. I think most reviews gave it such a bad score because they only invested the first hour or two into it, didn't like the "classic RPG" style and slammed a score on it. I don't see how any big classic RPG fan can say this was a terrible RPG, it's definitely average to good. It's kinda like the quality of new Final Fantasy titles these days ![]() |

| I thought enchanted arms was fine. It was shallow and embarrassingly easy but it was nice to see a next gen (well, maybe 1.5 gen) RPG, it was good enough to be willing to beat it from beginning to end, and it really whetted my appetite for a properly done next-gen RPG. |

| I think alot of people were just put off by the gay character in it. I am pretty tight with the guys at my local gamestop and we had a discussion about the game only a few weeks ago. He said its amazing how many people have returned the game and were pretty open about the gay character being too much for them heh. They cant even comment on the game being good or not because they got about 5 minutes into it and turned it off. |

| The flamboyantly gay version of Makoto doesn't even get that much screen time in the game. I enjoyed the game overall. Its pretty much the definition of average gameplay-wise, but it was fun and that is what really matters. |

| Makoto was so over the top it was just annoying. I have had and have many gay friends, and even the extremely flaming ones don't sound anywhere near as retarded as he did. Some of the shit he said was humorous, but I don't see why they thought that character would be a good idea. Is Japan not as super-homophobic as the US? |

+17 Internets | Just finished it at like 48 hours with every Golem acquired, bonus dungeon done, things bought and learned, ect. Well worth the 40 bucks I spent on it (could have got it for 30 used, but it didn't have the little manga book that came with it so fuck that). |

| I played through this entire game and didn't think it was that bad. The option to select Japanese or English voice overs was nice. The only thing that really bugged me was the lack of cut-scenes. The way they did the dialog in this game was really poor. Makato kicked ass too. I thought he was funny as hell. |

Please tell me that I don't have to listen to him hint at taking it up the butt or giving it up the butt every few seconds much longer. I am about an hour or two into the game. The first two hours seem more focused on him talking about gay buttsecks rather than telling a story.
