The Nippon Ichi Software thread (or NIS)

If you don't know what NIS is, just as a quick rundown - they publish certain games by VanillaWare and Gust and develop their own. Some of the games they personally made:

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Phantom Brave, La Pucelle: Tactics, and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure.

Really, Disgaea probably being the absolute best. However, they are known to only publish/develop Sony games.

In particular, two games interest me (so I'm throwing this altogether into one thread) the most.

Soul Nomad & the World Eaters

Resolution for screenshots are shitty, but if you want to view it anyways:

Looking forward to both of these games.

Here are some scores of DA - Dragoneer's Aria Reviews
Game comes out next month in US, subsequently two days before the nippon release.

Reviews of
Soul cradle (or nomad, in the US release) from Famitsu
Famitsu:
SOUL CRADLE (PS2) 8, 8, 7, 7
30/40, which is respectable, but then again, I've never always agreed with with Famitsu has had to say. We'll see.

Just to clarify, both these games are coming out within a matter of weeks, or more specifically, about 3 weeks for DA and about a month and a half for Soul Cradle. I look forward to seeing both.

Oh wow, those look hot. Especially Soul Nomad, it's like Disgaea mixed with Ogre Battle.

I posted a Soul Nomad trailer in another thread a while ago - the game definitely looks fucking sick. I hope it turns out to be NIS's best work yet.

Argh, I still need to get Makai too.

Whoa, I feel completely ashamed as an NIS fan for not knowing that there was an English release of Rhapsody.

My collection is dreadfully incomplete without Rhapsody and Makai. =(

If I didn't have so much shit to buy this coming month I think I'd go and order them right now, maybe next month.

Its not expensive.

Amazon.com: Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure: Video Games

Amazon.com: Makai Kingdom: Video Games

You can get both of them, individually for under 25 dollars from reputable sellers.

Unless, you know. You want to go mint condition.

Yeah I know they don't cost much. I just have *that* much shit to buy.

August:
X360 Elite
Wii Wireless Sensor Bar
Bioshock Special Edition + Guide
Blue Dragon + Guide
Persona 3 Guide (already pre-paid Persona 3 itself)
Wild Arms 5
Growlanser 5
Metroid Prime 3

I collect guides, even if I don't have much use for them, they're pretty.

Oh, also probably picking up The Darkness when I get my Elite.

So that's a good 900 bucks before sales tax there.

September is a lot easier to do, only 290 bucks in game stuff:

Halo 3 Legendary + Guide
Eternal Sonata
.hack GU v3
Soul Nomad

I've gotten the XBOX360 stuff taken care of, as well as a import copy of Blue Dragon. (Yay)

However, I have the same to purchase above, except add Lair to that list. I've also pre-paid my copy for Persona 3 as well. Nix the wireless sensor bar. :X

I can't wait for hack G.U in September.

Hard to see Rhapsody, but it's there!

I haven't even gotten around to playing it. I haven't even finished Disgaea 2 or Makai...or LaPucelle...or Phantom Brave. Though I couldn't stand the LaPucelle mana waygate system, or Phantom's character system. I stopped playing Makai when Disgaea 2 came out.
