| Top 3 DS games So I'm deploying for 6-8 months, and am going to pick up a DS to keep me company during those lonely nights. I don't really want to blow my wad on a bunch of games, so in your opinion, which are the top three DS games in terms of longevity, and re-playability? I'm already planning on FFIII.

| Trauma Center hands down for replayability. like sudden mentioned, puzzle quest is pretty dope. can play through the game as another class when you finish. other than that im not too sure.. Castlevania perhaps? I personally LOVE phoenix wright but the replay value doesnt exist heh. |

+8 Internets | Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan 2. Defiantely my favourite games on the DS. Advance Wars: Dual Strike is also great. As is NSMB (not a lot of replay value though). Puzzle Quest and Planet Planet Puzzle league are also a lot of fun. |

+25 Internets | For longevity I would consider games that can be played almost endlessly such as Tetris DS (because it's Tetris), Electroplankton (because it's not a game, it's doodling with sounds), Pokemon (because you have to catch them all) or why not Nintendogs (because depending on where you deploy a cyber puppy might be the only thing that loves you) or Animal Crossing (because it's an alternate universe in your pocket).

+75 Internets | Animal Crossing is a snorefest, especially if you don't have access to wifi. Puzzle Quest becomes not enjoyable later on. Lack of items and variety, easy to fuck yourself with the wrong skills. Tetris is really mindless if you don't have anyone else to play with. IF you know some other dudes with DS's and you're pretty certain you can find other people to play with, I'd recommend - Mario Kart DS Advance Wars DS Both because they have high replayability even if you can't find people to play with. I'd say Pokemon, but if you're not a fan and you're not comfortable with playing it, you probably shouldn't get it. It can be difficult also without FAQs or wifi. I've HEARD FF III can get pretty monotonous. Might want to think about picking up some old GBA titles. Maybe Metal Slug or Final Fantasy IV/VI |

| FFIII is a definate just cause of what it is. I'm not a pokemon fan, nor plan on becoming one. Tetris doesn't really do it for me and puzzle quest looks a bit goofy. Metroid Pinball looks fun, and I've spent hours and hours on the pinball that comes with xp. Mario Kart and Advanced wars are an option. I'm sure they'll be other people with DS's around. Thx for the tips so far.

+16 Internets | FF:Tactics Advance. many people say it sucks compared to PS1 version, buts it still a great gameboy game. Long game beginning to end, and very replayable. I'd also second Puzzle Quest Pokemon Advance Wars

| I had to help some bloke in a store yesterday, he was buying a DS for his kid and had no idea what to buy. Aksed him age/gender of the kid and it was a 10 year old boy, so recommended: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl New Super Mario Bros Mario Kart Think those were good suggestions? |

Oh, you should probably get screen protectors and some sort of carrying case for it. Quote:
But really, as a 10 year old, what other game will you need besides Pokemon? It's what all your friends will be playing. Last edited by Zarcath; 07-28-2007 at 10:00 AM.. | ||

| They should like good picks for a 10 year old to me. Introducing them to Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros (which isn't difficult at all) at that age is a good thing. ![]()
