Playstation Pr3miere Event 2007

So the Playstation premiere event went down in Japan, and lots of new things were announced. Here are some highlights


Metal Gear Solid 4

-A demo was shown of gameplay along with a Japanese version of the E3 trailer. I haven't seen in new screenshots or videos of the gameplay and apparently it will be shown off to the public at the Tokyo Game Show.

-Some info gained from the demo:

▪ Can pretend to be dead by using Octocam
▪ Can crawl forward like a looper by getting the hip up and down
▪ Can take away enemy's weapons
▪ Can roll around sideways while lying down
▪ Can use an electric stun knife to stun an enemy
▪ Can hide from an enemy under a drum like a cardboard box. A drum is more tough and secure.
▪ Too much rolling in a drum makes Snake vomit
▪ Not to make him vomit, you can let him browse a magazine with sexy pics (with more pages than before). Pages can be flipped and you can use it against enemies too.
▪ The viewpoint can be switched to over-shoulder.
▪ The FPS viewpoint is also available. A crosshairs is controllable by SIXAXIS
▪ Hiding in a trash can for a too long time adds bad smell to Snake and enemies can sense it
▪ You can turn off Octocam by shaking SIXAXIS
▪ Snake uses SIXAXIS when he controls Metal Gear MKII
▪ Metal Gear MKII is in the stealth mode and it's hard for enemies to spot it
▪ Can throw a tornado bomb while lying face up.


Metal Gear Online Announced

-A new online metal gear game for the Playstation 3 (I'm assuming a PSN game, probably like the multiplayer from MGS3) supposed to be coming Winter 2007


Disgaea 3 Announced

Disgaea 3 was announced for the Playstation 3. I think it said it was due out this winter. It said these screenshots were from the game but its still in development. (It still looks like the PS2 games kinda)





White Knight Story

New things were shown for White Knight Story. There might be a playable demo at Tokyo Game Show

A main character creation thing was shown. The real life picture was to show how much flexibility one has with the creation tool thing.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

The official Gran Turismo 5 website was launched. (グランツーリスモ５プヿヿーグ - グランツーリスモ・ドットコム)

Valkyrie of the Battlefield

A new game for PS3 from Sega was announced. It is supposed to be in a 1935 World War 2 setting with water-color shaded-like graphics.

Dynasty Warriors 6

Koei announced Dynasty Warriors 6 for this Fall 07. (It will probably be multiplatform, but it was announced for PS3 at the playstation event.

The developers said the game was supposed to concentrate on extreme action and extreme battlefields.

Final Fantasy XIII

New footage was shown. (much like the MGS4 footage, apparently the public will be able to see it at Tokyo Game Show)

Nobi Nobi Boy

A new game from the creator of Katamari Damacy was announced. It is supposed to feature a flexible wormlike creature.

New Slim PSP Crisis Core:Final Fantasy 7 pack for Japan

A new limited edition Slim PSP pack for japan was announced. Apparnetly only 77,777 will be available. It's a Slim PSP with Final Fantasy Crisis core artwork, the game, and a buster sword chain.

holy fuck.. me too, that shit is regon coded though isnt it?

The PSP games arent region coded, so you could play US games on a Japanese PSP. I'm not sure about the UMD movies though.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is coming out next month I believe. So instead of some obscure historical Chinese setting, you get Gundams mowing through other mechs. Can't go wrong with giant mechs

It's smaller, uses less power, and can be connected to your TV. But yeah, other than that, not much different.

I think they need to make more games with giant robots. The problem I have, though, is that they really don't look "giant." They need to make a SoTC style game with giant robots.
