NCAA Football 08

Been reading reviews and they seem to like it

I know, I know, it's just another $60 NCAA game with nothing but updated rosters, am just getting an itch to play a next gen football game, I didn't buy last year's version because they were watered down versions of the originals, so much was left out, this year however they've added all the features that were missing last year

Anyone played it and have any comments? (360 / PS3 versions preferred, I don't own a Wii)

EDIT: My bad, I see today is the launch day for the game, I thought it came out last week, so am guessing no one here has played it

Still has that stupid "highlight the play you're selecting" shit. Fuck that. Strategy for a football game? Who needs it, just watch your opponents cursor and pick a suitable play. Obv that has no bearing for online play. I only played the demo, and I hate USC/Michigan so I didn't have fun =(

Well this 360/PS3 version of this and Madden are more than updated rosters since they've gotta make these games not feel like stiff pieces of crap when you're playing them. I'll try to talk my brother into picking this up since the demo seemed okay and I'm interested in this refined recruiting system.

Best part of having it on ps2 these last years is DLing it, dling the real rosters, saving 4 years of draft classes then playing Franchise mode in madden to play with the actual players that won't come out for 2-4 years. Some players come out with the most insane ratings in the draft. I picked up Tim Tebow last time I played and he was a 92... as a rookie.

I didn't even notice it was highlight a single play shit. At least in madden it's a 1/3 thing.

I think theres a way to "show" a play and then select a hidden play to fool your opponent if he is watching.

I actually rather the new play calling system. On the 360 you pick the play with x then clear the screen with a. You can also use the y button to bluff a pick if your opponent is trying to listen to the clicks when you're picking your play. Learn2Read the instructions

Let me warn anyone who is thinking about buying this for the 360. The game itself is not bad but it keeps giving me the unreadable disc error everytime I try to be a Campus Legend. Also, the absence of Create-a-School for PS3/360 is unacceptable. I'm going to go trade in for the Xbox version to see if it runs on a 360. If it doesn't, I am forgoing the game for this year until EA gets its shit heads out of it's asses and makes a proper football game.

If you want a good sim football game, try out All Pro 2k8. Its not for everyone. Only hardcore football players. The learning curve is steep.
