| In general I think the MGS games are at best rentals. Seriously how long has it taken anyone to beat one... 12-15 hours? One weekend rental and send it back, as cool as they have looked they have little to no replay value and people get way to hyped about them. |

The best comment concerning FO3 from the podcast was this (paraphrasing): I thought FO3 was just going to just be a mod pack added to Oblivion--it didn't resemble that at all, it was a totally different game. /cheer

+107 Internets | Even at 12 - 15 hours, I don't have time to play it for 6 or 7 hours of my day. Even on the weekends. I think they are worth the purchase. Plus I like to actually buy and support the development houses that makes games I really like. |

| So yeah, this E3 was pretty underwhelming all around. As for Nintendo's conference, yeah, boring as hell. The release dates were nice, the footage of Galaxy was nice, and knowing a new Mario Kart is coming was nice. I think the biggest mistake they made is they capped it off with a non-gamer game, instead of a core game. When they did that, they made everything kind of unbalanced. Should have showed Pikmin 3 or something. I have to say Sony's was best by default, really. Hopefully Nintendo picks up the slack at TGS, though.

| I'm pretty dissapointed this year. such boring conferences, at the very least i was hoping miyamoto would bust out some weird little jig/dance for humour. suprised no talk about Final Fantasy other than tactics. but hey.. i guess i can't be too dissapointed, there could be no E3 at all~ |

| YouTube - Super Mario Galaxy E3 '07 Nintendo probably should have ended it with that. Would have been a lot better.

+25 Internets | There is not much to chew on. All in all there was no big earth shattering announcement made. Microsoft said "we are doing ok". Nintendo said "we are doing great and differently". Sony said "we have many little sexy things here and there". As far as media coverage goes, I am pretty sure Nintendo will win this one with Wii Fit, but as far as I am concerned, Sony wins this one thanks to several minor announcements (the puzzle game, the Home multimedia whirlwind, Infamous, possibly that odd japanese game on PSP?) and badass confirmations (MGS4, Killzone 2). Sony are still in a tough position though. That said, I am curious to see the actual impact on sales of the $100 reduction.

+25 Internets | Echochrome is the name. Let's remember it because it indeeds sound pretty amazing. And it might even be released before Portal for that new "let's challenge 3D" flavor.

| So, turns out all of the Wii's stuff was shown after the conference. Wtf. Game trailers has trailers of Galaxy, Prime, Forever Blue, and some other stuff that we either didn't see, or saw very little of.

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | Apparently you're not familiar with Nintendo because that's what they do at keynote conferences. The way I looked at it, Sony dissapointed me in the sense that they kept backing their huge titles in 08 (Honestly, I doubt MGS4 hits before Summer 08) and kind of neglected Holiday 07. Nintendo had nothing to prove to anyone, but solidified their 3 big holiday games (MP:3, SSBB, Mario Galaxy). Fairly happy about most of the online components for most games. EXTREMELY dissapointed in the lack of online for SSBB. I swear to god, if I don't hear about it at TGS, I'm going on a fucking Postal-esque rampage. Microsoft was the one that dissapointed me the most. They were kind of clutching on to their top spot (only reason they have it is with a 1 year head start and when you're barely ahead of your competition with a 1 year head start, you are in no fucking position to gloat). Remember something, this is July. You're 4 months away from the holiday season. MS is pretty much banking on Halo 3 and GTA IV to push most of their consoles and it'll work well. Sony's PSN titles looked very good yeah, but I mean common. You're gonna move systems on fucking marketplace games? You think people will buy a PS3 just because FFXIII and MGS4 are coming in 2008? No. They'll get it when the time comes. They're in for another long holiday week. As I said, Nintendo focused mostly on their Holiday 2007 lineup (only big 08 game announced was Mario Kart and I doubt that will be out before Q2). TGS is where you should be focusing on 08 and E for All is where you should do a little of both (kind of like the old E3). As for the handhelds, DS really doesn't need much to boost it. They have Zelda coming here which will push even more hardware and brain age 2 should do fairly well. Once again, Nintendo was all about the numbers and the holidaywhich is nice. The PSP redesign pissed me the fuck off. I really want to see a few comparitive pictures before I believe it's really 33 percent smaller. After talking with a friend who has a PSP and saw the conference, he said the same thing I did. That redesign may look thinner and lighter, but it looks significantly longer. Maybe I'm wrong and it's not that much longer, but that really bugged me. The added functionality was cool, but SWBF looked fucking awful. Why would you even show a game that runs at that ridiculous of a framerate? I was ranting about that in the IRC room and it still pisses me off. Major bonus points for Chewie though. Overall, not even remotely surprised. It was a slow slew of conferences. TGS and E for All should be a lot more interesting, although I doubt we'll be able to get live feeds of TGS. |

| I had to work through the conferences, can someone please a link a spot to download the nintendo and the sony conferences? I have IGN insider, but can't find a link on that site through all the clutter. Hi-Def would be preferable Thanks! |

+2 Internets | I don't know if you ever look at Mediacreate's website, but the PS3's sells are shit in Japan too. PS3 seems to be hovering around 7000 - 11000 where Xbox 360 is 3000 - 7000. Sure the PS3 is selling better than the 360, but both are consistently pulling 4-digit figures and that is really bad. |
