+17 Internets | GrimGrimoire Just picked this up today and I'm installing it on my PS2's HDD right now. Just finished off Odin Sphere with the true ending a few minutes ago and that was holy fucking satisfying so I can't wait to play this. It's from the same company - Vanillaware. I really wish Atlus had put out Princess Crown in the US - it was made by mostly the same team members who make up the new Vanillaware. |

+17 Internets | Well, if you loved Odin Sphere's presentation and art style you'll love that part of this game as well. I personally think it's amazing. GrimGrimoire's art is actually even better imo - the story is told with full screen sized characters in between the RTS battles. The "2D" portraits constantly change their expression with the conversations, breathe, ect. It's a very pleasing visual experience. The RTS battles themselves are fairly simplistic so far, but fun. Reviews have stated that the battles towards the end last upwards of 90 minutes so it looks like it gets a lot more depth to it as it goes along. I also now have an incredible urge to watch Groundhog Day. |

+17 Internets | Just finished the main game on normal difficulty (the highest: there's Sweet (easiest), Easy, and Normal). Clocked in at 12 hours playtime. I can only conclude that the IGN reviewer sucks at RTS games - not one battle was near 90 minutes. You can pretty much plow the Comp with Dragons on nearly any stage once you get them. Though some of the later ones take more of a mix. Grimalkins sleeping your dragons can really gay shit up, so it's good to have Fairies shadowing them to snipe the cats before they cast. There really isn't any units that can fuck with a few Dragons plowing through shit as long as they aren't CC'd. Though Dragons do take forever to kill Morning Stars. Most stages can be done in 15 minutes max - even the defend for 30 minute ones, just plow the Comp and it's over. The last stage however is absolutely massive compared to the other stages and was a good 35 or so mins. There's also 25 trial stages in addition to the main ones, but I haven't touched them yet. The story is great and as said above the style and presentation is fantastic. It is definitely worth purchasing. Last edited by Sean : 06-28-2007 at 05:35 PM. |

+17 Internets | It's not gay at all. The art is as fantastic as Odin Sphere's and the pictures don't do it justice. And it's completely worth buying even if the main game is only 12 hours. Not sure how long the extra trial stages will be, but so far they're more time consuming than the main ones. They probably easily make it a good 24+. It's also worth buying just to support Vanillaware. |
