| Resident Evil 4 - Wii Edition is out now- go buy it if you have a wii. for the price it's a great deal AND probably the best action/shooter for the wii to date. damn this game rocks for a "port" of a 2yr old game-i got it this morning and played for a bit (skipped out on work for an hr for "lunch") best buy in my area- sold out of it already (got 48 in from what the guy said) the ebgames is almost out. (they got 24 ish) the target has not gotten yet. |

+5 Internets | Let me ask the question: who played both the GC and Wii version and can make a comparative analysis?

They call it the "definitive version" of the game.

+4 Internets | Well, looking at Neogaf's thread on it, sounds like a lot of people are buying it. Impressions seem pretty good, too.

+17 Internets | It's pretty good. The Wiimote aiming for guns works perfectly with RE4's style of gameplay (doesn't work so well in other shooters imo). It's pretty much like Zelda, but I think it feels a lot more responsive. It's pretty sensitive about flicking for reloading too which is nice. Fuck Zombie farmers who take 6 shots right-between their eyes before their head explodes though. I thought maybe I just wasn't accurate enough when playing the GC version with the sticks for aiming, but shit - these zombies are more durable than I remember. Guess it's been a while. I would definitely have prefered the old laser-sight over the reticle in the Wii version too. It's not really a big deal though. The flicking the Wiimote for cutting boxes works okay, but for killing shit with the knife you're much better off holding the C button the Chuck and pressing A. The one "bad" thing I can say about it though is that it looks fucking identical to the GC version. I know it's a port and all and you're not going to redo the textures or anything, but for fuck's sake - juice it up a little with some AA and AF. Edit - Oh yeah, and I wish I could fucking strafe, but you couldn't in the previous versions anyways - RE4 design gripe rather than a Wii issue there. Last edited by Sean : 06-20-2007 at 04:24 PM. |

... I'm not sure I want to play RE4:Wii. I don't want to ruin my RE5 experience by returning to an inferior control scheme. Wii's pointer works GREAT for 3rd person shooters at a slower pace. Edit: Assuming RE5 retains the new formula. | |

+4 Internets | I'm buying it for two reasons. 1. Never played the original. 2. To show Capcom that putting more mature games on the Wii is a worth while investment.
