+15 Internets | Over-engineered for who? Your average retard who can barely load up Bejeweled ? Sure, no doubt. Over-engineered for me? Fuck no, you couldn't possibly come up with such a thing. Thank god the rest of the company doesn't agree with him and is giving me sweet next-gen console fap-material with The Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, and Final Fantasy XIII. |

There are too many specs--and you also need a high-definition TV, a broadband connection, and a deep knowledge of gaming--these consoles are mismatched to today's environment. In a year or two years, they will fare better." When do the new FF, etc come out? Thats right! A year+ from now. | |

| Yeah, in 2 years HD gaming will be at a much higher percentage than it is now, no doubt. There's quite a few really good games coming out for the two HD systems in between now and then as well, so market penetration is bound to rise more than it has so far. That and HD TVs, while still silly expensive, -are- getting cheaper, and by then we can assume both 360 and PS3 will have experienced a price cut. While it sucks for the early adopters on both systems, by the time the rest of the world catches on, the developers will have had years to work out what they can do with each system a lot better than currently, and the overall quality of games should go up quite a bit. Compare Evergrace to FF12 and it's a pretty large gap between release games and a few years down the road, in pretty much every department.

| Nah, the 360 and PS3 are both the next logical step in technology for gaming. They were released a might bit early before the boom, but they are not over-engineered at all. They're just slightly ahead of their time.

| that is easy... the consoles will still sell= more people playing the game AND more people will own HDTV's thus by process of osmosis, by default more people will capable of doing hd gaming which anyone with a PC does now, my 20" widescreen almost does 1080p resolution (1920x1,080).. my monitor does 1680x1050. 240x30pixel's short... in 2011 years nintendo will probably come out with their HD version of the Wii. |

| Well, seeing as how they are still selling 360s and PS3s, the number of people with the console is rising as opposed to them both selling 0 new consoles ever again or people selling all their old PS3s and 360s. This means that the number of HD capable consoles in houses is on the rise. With people not selling their HD TVs to get older model TVs on average, and the price of HD tvs steadily decreasing, this means that Average Joe will be able to afford one much easier. This would mean that the number of HD capable television sets in homes will continue increasing, and 99.99% most likely at a faster rate than they have been currently entering homes. Given the above, yes, the percentage of people in the world with high def consoles and high def TVs will be larger in 2 years than it is today.

| while THAT is true since the wii doesn't "do" high def... the overall percentage is going down that are doing HD, the number of people capable of doing HD is going up, it is just that the Wii is selling Significantly better than the other two consoles. |

Anyway, I hope this means more games for the Wii. Wii could always use more games. Anyway, I suspect the next Wii will feature an upscaler to cater to those who went HD.
